btw I can download from the internet.

Uhm... are you doing this thru some Yahoo app or are you actually going to their webmail site thru the browser?

I am not a fan of Yahoo, I haven't used my address there in 10+ years, it's probably gone haha. No offense, I just don't have an account to test with.

Perhaps this isn't a solution for you, but why don't you just download the APK on your computer, then install thru adb or copying it to the AndroidApps folder...?

I have the same issue with gmail. I sent an apk as attachement to my gmail and when I open the email the only option I have is to install the apk and when I do that it gives me the parse error. However I am able to install apk from forum using Tapatalk.

Weird. Guess I've never emailed an APK to myself.

I'll try it, see what's in the logs from the occurrence.

Either way, my workaround above works... yes?

Hey arrrghhh, sorry if this has been asked before, I tried searching around but couldn't find an answer but do you know if there's anyway to adjust the touch pressure sensitivity; I'd like to make it more sensitive so it feels a little more like a capacitive screen, like in WinMo TFLO setttings. I think FRX04 (and any other release thus far including those packaged by Tiad8 ) is pretty good but sometimes I think there's a slight lagging response when touching the screen; I believe it's not related to the system at all but more due to the finger pressure trigger threshold before the system responds. Thanks. I have been using FRX04 for the last 4-5 days and I have to say it's pretty stable, except for the occassional FC (system-server crash), which I just dial my voicemail and it never happens again; in fact, if I stick with the 1253 kernel, I haven't gotten a FC after allowing the Market to update all the existing apps. I haven't tried Tiad8's 1-28 build yet. I wonder what Tiad8 has in his build that fixes the FCs; I wish he could share his "secret" with your development team so that we can have a solid FRX04 to play with.

It honestly pisses me off that he's not working with us... I wouldn't say he's working against us, but he definitely doesn't collaborate with any dev on the XDAndroid team - to my knowledge at least.

There also seems to be an issue with giving credit where it is due...

To answer your question tho, I'm not aware of any way to tweak that. I'll have to ask around.

I said this over on XDA, but I'll stay it here too:

Hey man, hop on IRC sometime. We've been hashing this out for a while, the theory is RIL - something is looping and making a phone call breaks the loop...

Hi, I've been using FRX04 for a while now, and everything's working awesomely, it's just that after a while of using the phone, the network connection just disappears and after that, the only way to get it back is by restarting Android. Usually this happens after I make or recieve a call or send a message, but not necessarily. Is there any way to fix this? I've tried to switch airplane mode on and turning it off but after I turn it on, the option just greys out and nothing happens. I'm using a GSM phone, the model is RHOD100UK, if that's relevant. Any help would be greatly appreciated :(

Unfortunately that's a known issue, without a known fix - for me sometimes airplane mode works... I wish there was something more definitive to tell you on how to fix this, but in light of the other issues we have this one is relatively low on the docket.

Just install Data Toggle, or something close. Not too sure if this will work for GSM or not but...
When you lose connection just turn data off (via the data Toggle widget), wait a few seconds and then turn it back on. It will then take ~30 seconds to get reconnected.
It won't fix the problem but you will not have to reboot.

As was stated previously, the CAB is bad. Use the RAR/ZIP please - IMHO it's easier, and I can definitely say it's much faster. Extract to SD... done. Cab... takes several more steps :p.

Thanks Tiad for all the information. But is there any reason why you can't tell which specific driver you added for Camera or any put down what i modified. As this whole thing is open source there should be nothing to hide. I do truly appreciate your effort but maybe sharing more information between the Xandroid team and you will allow this project to move at much faster rate.

What kernel are you on? Anything in particular that you're noticing that causes the reboots?

This usually is a result of a kernel panic, but they don't happen very frequently (to me...)

Sorry for the doublepost, but this one is a doozie. Already posted on XDA:

Well what the system_server bug seems to be a loop. WisTilt2 actually believes he has resolved this issue. He still doesn't have the root cause solved, but he seems to have a workaround. I'm going to post it in my testing thread as soon as he gets it to me :D.

For anyone wanting a summary, here it be:

can someone tell me how to set an animated wallpaper. I cant seem to figure it out. I had it working on the 9.28 build but i dont remember how i got it working.

cab?

There's an APK, I think it's called "LiveWallpaper.apk" or some such. It was pulled from the Reference builds because they slowed the phone down to a crawl and just made for an overall horrible experience. Basically the tradeoff was - have a bunch of people complain that they suck, or have a few people complain that they're not present - plus, you can add them back in, so it's not that big of a deal :p. Can't say I didn't warn ya!

Im not sure I just unzipped everything within the RAR file to my SD card and ran the Haret. Do we have to choose which kernel to use? I looked further into it and see there a few to pick.

Well if you just ran with what's in the rar, that should be the newest kernel from GIT.

is there anything in particular that you're doing that is causing the resets...?

There's an APK, I think it's called "LiveWallpaper.apk" or some such. It was pulled from the Reference builds because they slowed the phone down to a crawl and just made for an overall horrible experience. Basically the tradeoff was - have a bunch of people complain that they suck, or have a few people complain that they're not present - plus, you can add them back in, so it's not that big of a deal :p. Can't say I didn't warn ya!

Ok so then I need to go to the market and instal livewallpaper.apk in order to run live wallpapers?

Looks like ill be giving that a shot.

Thanks

Or just search for that apk, rip it out of the BLAZN build... whatever. Don't think you can get this app from the market, sorry.

Well I did a comprehensive search and all I could find was more live wallpapers.

But I did look into the blazin build and I found three that show promise. Im guessing its the LiveWallpapersPicker.apk

Isn't it?

Thanks Ill be trying it out.

and I know about how it may drain the battery but arn't there ways of making it more effeciant. Again just a question I completly understand its not a priority.

Here they are if anyone else wants them.

Yea, the picker is the one you want. The additional APK's are other LiveWallpapers themselves.

It's not really battery drain... it's proc power. Our old phones are... old. They don't support OpenGLES2.0, and the processor is slow. Nothing you can really do to overcome that, short of buying a new phone. Seems like there might be a little bit of hw performance to improve upon but not much, devs have done a good job at optimizing gfx performance. The only limit (potentially) is that 30fps limit - Evo had the same issue, although very different hardware. Not sure what the max FPS we could get out of it is, but FPS2D shows 30 with the screen on and like 100+ with it off. I've seen it randomly hit 50, so perhaps there is more hiding in there that's limiting it.

Only so much you can do in software to overcome hardware limitations. I'm not trying to run Windows 7 on my Apple IIe :p.

Hello everyone. Just wanted to give my 2 cents as far as what I have noticed with the FRX04 reference build. Ive been using the reference FRX04 for a week or so now and it really works quite well. Seems pretty fast. On occasion I have to hit the power button a few times to wake from sleep. The only problem I've had is that the time starts to drift after I run haret from WinMo. It does not just jump it slowly drifts off. It takes a few days to really notice. I have the phone set to use network provide values. I also notice that the reception bars will go to none if I have not made a call before it sleeps for a long while (maybe an hour). If I turn airplane mode on and back off reception bars come back. Thanks for all the work all the developers have done on getting Android working on the Touch Pro2. This is really a very good phone WinMo is just not a very good OS for it.

Well I installed livewallpaperpicker successfully however when i go to run a live wallpaper it gives me an error

"Sorry
The application live wallpaper picker (process android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"

Do you happen to know whats causing the app to stop working?
