Two after my phone has been charged over night the next day the time is 10 min behind the normal time. Third when I plug my phone into the computer using the USB it doesn't show up on the phone or the computer like it used to. I am using the 10-4 kernel from reefer. Thanks

1. Because the battery is receiving power, and Android doesn't regulate it the same way WinCE does.

2. Time loss is a bug and it gets worse if you are overclocking. Again, welcome to running an OS on a phone that it wasn't designed for.

3. What OS are you using and which model phone do you have? USB has been working for a while now. Maybe try an older kernel and see if the problem still exists. Might need to do some regression testing.

set ramaddr 0x10000000

set KERNEL zImage
set initrd initrd.gz

Change the 0 to 1 after the force_cdma=

It should look like this once you are done:
set ramsize 0x10000000
set ramaddr 0x10000000
set mtype 2292
set KERNEL zImage
set initrd initrd.gz
set cmdline "lcd.density=240 msmts_calib=0x9f.0x39a.0x35c.0x78 clock-7x00.a11=500 msmvkeyb_toggle=off pmem.extra=1 force_cdma=1 gsensor_axis=2,1,3 pm.sleep_mode=2 acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=716800 rel_path=andboot hw3d.force=1 physkeyboard=Tilt2"
boot

overwrite the file on your phone andboot folder and you are done.

If he's on the sprint network he shouldn't be using the Tilt2 keymap. He should replace that with rhod400.

And hey do you know if there has been any progress on the camera working?

It is functional but occasionally it doesn't work.

@natemcnutty: I was reading the IRC Chat history, and i read that you maybe working on fixing the 3.5mm headphone jack??? I am really excited to see that getting fixed. That is really the only thing holding me back from using Android all the time.

No pressure, just wanted to show my appreciation in advance.

IRC logs

is that what you are looking for?

01:37 natemcnutty ah, so you want me to just copy similar changes to board-htcrhodum.c
01:37 arrrghhh i believe so...
01:37 arrrghhh blackstone's 3.5mm jack works flawlessly
01:37 arrrghhh i think leo does too, but i'm not sure if they use this code or something different.
01:38 natemcnutty see, but we have a board-htcrhodium-audio file as well though

Just out of curiosity, I haven't seen this mentioned much. I've been following the TP2 android development for a while, and I've only installed it once some time ago and haven't used it at all. It seems like almost all the major functions are now complete and it's very usable, big thanks to all the developers.

I haven't seen the camera mentioned much, is that something nearly impossible to get working? I don't know much about software, did some searches but couldn't find much of a discussion on the topic and I am curious. Thanks.

it is one of those things that the developers will get to eventually. We should enjoy what we have. There has been major strides made in the last few months.

This really is the most important part for people? I think the camera takes horrible pictures, but I guess that's just me lol.

There are some devs working on it, the userland stuff is done... but the kernel piece, the piece where Linux actually understands how to talk to the camera itself - that's the hard part, and the slow goings part.

Hopefully it will get some more attention soon, but there's still a lot of other things that need to be ironed out... Power management is #1 in my mind, and that is where a lot of work is being done currently. Full USB support seems around the corner as well.

I just tried this test on TP2, try taking pictures without the backcover or remove the small plastic lens which is in front of it.
What i have found is that the crappy plastic which is in front of the camera get all dusty and scratcy and this causes the pictures to come really dull....i did a before and after with and without the plastic and the difference is day and night

cant go wrong with a better camera....i dont think camera is that important right now for this port....for me power managment and 3.5 mm headphone jack are the most important ....

on a side note...where can i start reading or trying if i want to jump into android/linux development?

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [10/04] BATT UPDATES!

I agree, the camera in the TP2 leaves a lot to be desired and if and when the developers get around to fixing it is fine with me. I'm more concerned w/ call stability, which is dramatically improved, MMS, battery life and USB, with those, IMO, I would run this full time and not look back.

Agreed.

Well, if you know git - here's the repo. Build environment - you'll need one of those too. That's a pretty good guide by stinebd.

Has it happened to any of you with the new build that the phone would just restart randomly...it happens to me atleast 2-3 times in a day.

apologies if this has been asked before, but...
how do you create a conference call?

I've tried putting the call on hold and then dialing the second number like in WM6, but I just get a brief dial tone and then nothing after I press hold.

I'd rather have BT then my camera. Out here is California, we can only use hands free while we drive. And now its like a $200 fine for being caught using your phone normally.

I don't think people should be able to use the phones at all when they're driving, but that's just me. More laws probably won't help, I don't see why they have to legislate common sense.

Not sure if this works yet. I'll play with it in a few to see if I can get it working...

I haven't seen much on MMS posted. Is there anyway to get MMS to work yet? A workaround for Verizon like the sprint pics thing? Is MMS that difficult to get working or is it just not a priority?

I would say it's definitely not a priority, especially since the camera isn't working...

I've seen a few guys that REALLY wanted it, and I think they sorted out incoming but not outgoing. Don't quote me on that.

Is there a way to add external wallpapers? I see a bunch in media/resource but I think Android launches them from Launcher.apk, and there's maybe 10 or so. I'm using Reference 10-4.

Thanks :)

**disregard, found them in gallery after 10 mins of loading

This camera on the TP2 is definitely not great, I think my Palm centro took better pictures lol. But I don't have a Point and Shoot I can carry around easily and I don't lug the DSLR everywhere I go, so when I need a quick picture, I rely on the phone. Having a so-so picture is better than having nothing hehe.

Re: [CAB] GSM&CDMA Project Android Port and Startup Utility [10/04] BATT UPDATES!

I too would like to know how to receive MMS messages on Verizon. If there is a way, or some app I can install to handle it, that'd be pretty sweet. I could care less about the camera as it has no flash, and takes crappy pictures thanks to the lens being scratched up (poor design). I'll continue to wait patiently. You guys are doing great!

As with the last 2 new kernel releases, on the 10/7 kernel, I lose wifi connectivity(says "error" when trying to connect), and still have issues with incall volume. I always revert back to the test kernel 5 and then everything works correctly again....I am on a rhod500 TP2 on Verizon......It seems to me there is still an issue with the new kernels playing nice with the rhod500....Any one else seeing similar issues on rhod500?????

I assume when you say the 3.5 code was reenabled is the 3.5mm headphone jack....
I have sprint tp2 and i tried to use headphones with then new kernel with no success....
is there any thing special i have to do to get it working

I assume the same snd_force that you had to use before to enable it...

Did you ever PM ACL? I was talking to him on IRC yesterday, he never heard from you. Unless we get some debug information from you dude, there's not a whole lot we can do since other RHOD500 users are just fine - natemcutty is one of 'em.

I have no issues connecting to my home wifi network with my RHOD500. Is your home network WEP? I haven't seen any update as to getting WEP encrypted wifi working, just unsecured or WPA

EDIT: Just tested a call using the latest kernel (20101007_232113) and in call sound doesn't work. The mic works and transmits sound to the other end fine, but no sound comes through on my cell in android. No idea if this is recent or has always been that way as I never use the actual phone when in android. Also, tried using headphones and no sound came through.
