What are you using to extract the files on ur phone, or are you using pc and moving them over through WMDC or AS? I may just have to wait til I get home from work, can't connect through work pc.

I don't usually download the kernel from my phone, but there is a mobile version of 7-zip you can use to extract the files.

Thanks, yeah I've got it now. I unzipped and e-mailed the files to myself, but they took forever to be received, and the Arrrgh sent me a copy also. Thanks!

How do you guys like the new Power Button for sleep and end button for Home using Spare Parts?

I personally dont like the change since I got used to the way it worked before. I mean, we've had Android running on our phones for MONTHS this way and all the sudden the HOME Function disappered. I know Spare Parts allows you to make the End Button as Home Button, but it really doesnt. The real Home Function is now GONE. You cant pull up your App History, which is VERY useful. Not only that but when using LauncherPro, you cant use the "Home" button any more to either return you to the main page or pull up the Page Preview function like on Sense. I kindda think it was a bad move that should have been introduced only when the Home Button got properly changed too.

What do you guys think?

The reference build with Launcher Pro installed from the Market is pretty damn zippy.

I like the change because I don't use Android 100% of the time.

I actually like it because now it's more how WinMo operates - which makes sense to me - power button = power button :p

The problem in reality is we don't have the right buttons for Android, so unfortunately there's no right answer. If you want to go back to the way it was, you can grab a kernel before the change was made.

fun project. CAn someone help me with an issue I have. I load up fine and connect to Sprint, all works (phone, text, gps, web) When I try to boot back in I cannot connect to my service, No Service. If I reinstall it it connects again. It gets stuck in airplane mode and when i try to de-select it trys to switch back but fails.

+1 for not liking it. I miss using that button to go to the home screen and I still use the end key for sleep so now Im just wasting a button and have to hit the "Back" key alot more than I should... Keep Android as Android and WinMo as WinMo.

I'm with LS on this one... plus when I use the top power button it always seems to take a press and hold for screen to come on if it times out... that frustrates me.
