What is snd_force for enabling 3.5 jack? I tried searching with no luck.

Must not have searched very hard then... Isn't this in the FAQ? I'll be nice.

Headset
snd.force_headset=X
1=USB headset
2=3.5mm headset

I think he may be referring to "snd.force_headset=2". look here for more information xda-developers - View Single Post - Android 2.1 (Eclair) On HTC [27 Jun 2010] (V2.5a) Voice Support

EDIT: Oops, looks like arrrghhh beat me too it (I agree on the search part as I go lots of hits for it too).

I assume the same snd_force that you had to use before to enable it...

Did you ever PM ACL? I was talking to him on IRC yesterday, he never heard from you. Unless we get some debug information from you dude, there's not a whole lot we can do since other RHOD500 users are just fine - natemcutty is one of 'em.

I just did...my first PM did not go through...

So a quick question if we force 3.5mm jack than does that mean the sound wont come out of the speakers anymore?

I just tried it and if i didnt do anything wrong....yes....it only sends sound to 3.5mm no matter if headphone is connected or not....so you WILL lose sound from speaker

This latest kernel has drastically improved my battery life .. at least while idle. Previously my phone would drain to nothing overnight. Woke up this AM and still had 65% juice.

Keep up the great work guys. :)

Thanks

edit: Jughead thanks for pointing out that it is exclusive to the 3.5 jack. That would have really confused me. I would rather have external sound for now.

SOD (Sleep of Death) is Back!

I am running 9/28 Blazin and ran update in the Startup App(to 10/7).

When my device goes to sleep(green led), I can't get it to wake up no matter what I do. I have to soft reset back to winmo. I was able to wake from sleep before(on prev Blazin releases). Am I missing something? Does pm.sleep_mode have anything to do with it? Thanks.

I always revert back to the test kernel 5 and then everything works correctly again....I am on a rhod500 TP2 on Verizon......It seems to me there is still an issue with the new kernels playing nice with the rhod500....Any one else seeing similar issues on rhod500?????

On my Verizon rhod500 TP2, when I make calls everything works fine, but when I receive calls the caller can't hear me, nor I them. I just updated via the startup utility so I think I have the Oct 7 kernel (details below).

Since I hardly use my phone to actually make and receive calls (ironic, eh? :)), it's not a showstopper for me. I'm just happy voice search works...most of the time.

Kernel Version: 2.6.27.46-01177-gf93ab58
Build Number: full_msm-eng 2.2 MASTER eng. mjg.201000813.141358 test-keys.
