This is my big question, too. I noticed that all the Android ports for any HTC phone seem to have to run off an SD card. Is there any reason why this is? Is there some limitation to a native boot loader or another? Is it rather because it's easiest for testing?

Re: General Android on TP2 Questions Thread

im on a sprint tp2 with activesync to mail2web's exchange server. is it possible to sync to exchange server while in winmo then sync to gmail while in android? i thought android has a gmail program much like the earlier winmo gmail java apps. however once i setup the gmail account in android, it automatically setup sync. when i switched back to winmo i couldn't get data to turn back on.

so is there an easy way to keep each os syncing to their respective servers?

Question Re: General Android on TP2 Questions Thread

How do I make my TP2 connect to my pc so I can mount the SD card?
So far I have been unable to access thru my pc, on my phone I got both alerts telling me that an USB connection is active, but on my computer nothing shows up.
I have installed the drivers and all the SDK stuff, but my pc can't see the sd card thru my android side of the phone.

As of yet the android port, does not support the option to access the sd card thru the pc.

Smile Re: General Android on TP2 Questions Thread

With all the help from these forums and the addition of Gen.Y DualBOOT WVGA v1.0.6.0 - Storage Card.cab, I am able to mess with Android on a daily basis and will have to continue to explore its features. Still trying to get sound through headphones despite indications on the status page that it should be working.

Attached the dual boot cab file from XDA.com

As long as Android is working (even the auto updatable one on this forum), you can use the dual boot to speed resets into android on any rom of your choice.

Re: General Android on TP2 Questions Thread

Has anyone else had problems with SMS after a while? The problem is that the message seems to be sending forever, and I'm sure this isn't a problem with my reception; I had 3G and full bars. This has happened to me once, but someone else has also been having this issue. Looking around for a fix to this, please help if you can.

As you can see from this link, http://www.androidonhtc.com/wiki/Port_Status
the stable ports for android on other phones all have native bootloaders, therefore I would say that as soon as this port becomes stable the developers will work on a native bootloader.

You have to unintall Android Cab. Then Delete the Data folder in the Android Root Folder. Take out your Sim card. reinstall Android. Let it boot click Force CDMA. Go to Wireless Settings and pick Network Settings Automatically. And it will work. its kind of worthless though. no sound no camera and no battery indicator that works. doesnt even charge but its fun to play with.

This will:
Stop annoying battery warnings (some have this)
Overclock the processor to 768 mhz (change to "acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=700000" if having startup issues in android)
enable the semi working hardware 3d (on startup the "X" graphic won't be displayed though)

with these tweaks your android shall run like buttah
i tried using these settings and when i try to start android it says unknown keyword acpuclock ..any idea what thats about ??? am i doing something wrong ..i set the freq khz to 700000 any help is appreciated
