I get SMS but no internet and such. someone mentioned entering the username and pass into the apn settings, I tried that, still nothing, I tried making a call, that works (someone suggested that might kick data on) still nothing. I assume i need more infor for the apn..ie server address...I have seen this someonewhere (and not the mms server info, I can find that everywhere) but i thought under the gsm build I found the full apn info, but now I can't If anyone has anyluck getting internet working on USCC TP2....please help a fellow friend in need... thanks to everyone working/giving advice peace byte |

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
Weird, speakerphone was working for calls with the previous release, but now it is not. Also live wallpapers are gone, anyway to get starfield back? I think we need a live wallpapers installer or something?
otherwise, it's great to have market working! |
Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
I just booted the all in one sim card. I'm confused as to when to take out the sim card. I'm on sprint, but my service isn't working and I cant make calls. I took out the sim card, and my phone froze. Just took out battery and I'm going to reboot haret. Could I get some advice as to when to remove the sim card? And is removing the sim card all that's needed for data/phone calls to work? thanks.

Is any one able to change their wallpaper? Also how do you save a image from the internet to set as wallpaper?

Can we add this to the first post? Too many steps- I'm home with my kids, and they interrupted me in the middle of the process... don't know what I was up to. |
Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
To get live wallpapers working again use a file explorer in android and go to AndroidApps folder on the sd card, then the Media subfolder... in there should be something called LiveWallpapersPicker that you can run and install... this is how I got my wallpapers back... when you get it up and running take a look at AndWobble in the market...

On the subject- with previous builds of android with haret, Android didn't actually need to be on the root of the card. In fact, I found I could have nested builds on the same card by putting a copy of haret + files in its own directory. |

Edit: Just checked and in my case it was calling using 501 area code which is Little Rock, AR. I think google voice uses there nearest server phone # (Little Rock in my case since my number belongs to AR) eventhough I am in South Florida. Does your number belong to Sacramento, CA by any chance? |
Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
I got android to boot with data and calls after I took out my SIM card. Problems: The sound on phone calls is very weak...people sound extremely far away. I've used the volume button to raise it as high as possible, but people still sound very far away. Gmail: Gmail wont sync for some reason, don't know why.
Important: Is there an application or a way to browse my SD card in android boot? Something similar to file explorer for Winmo? I can't find anything. Sidenote: Anyone want to post a few of their favorite apps? Thanks |
Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
how long does this take to boot?

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
Wow, awesome work on this. I decided to try it out today and for the most part its gone well. I'm on vzw and 3g data seems to be working although its finicky (on some startups it works, others it doesn't) however once it's working, it works fine for the entire time I'm running android. Wifi worked right out of the gate as well without removing my sim card or any such thing. Texting also worked right away however the keyboard symbols are not lined up correctly, doesn't seem like this would be too difficult an issue to fix so hopefully somebody does that soon. I installed the live backgrounds app from the sdcard, unfortunately it seems like when I try to run one its taking up too much sys memory or something, and the live backgrounds never load. Phone calls also worked, however so far my attempts to sync gmail contacts has been unsuccessful. Unfortunately google maps has not worked so far. One other weird thing, when the phone initially boots its in landscape, but after selecting messages or another app it reverts to portrait. Overall great work, can't wait until sound is working on this!

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
is the charge port working? or the 3.5mm jack working, didnt see anything mentioning these two items in the thread

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
Got astro for the file explorer, but I'm having a major problem. I tried to use the free application to make a vCard and import my contacts into Gmail, but when I sync my phone with Gmail it says there are no contacts with phone numbers. Other than entering contacts 1 by 1, is there a better, or different way to get my contacts into my phone?

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
OK I am really loving the progress with Android on our phones. I myself am not looking forward to Windows Phone 7 Series anyway so this will be able to hold me over a little longer. I do have a quick question that I have not found answered anywhere in theses forums (yes I have searched and Read), I though that one of the new features of Android 2.1 was the ability to have more that 3 home pages? I have found ways to do this with Home replacements that I can install through an APK or now through the Market, but I was wondering how to enable it with the normal Android Home? Thanks again for the work of Civic and Pippy.
