For those that might want it, for testing out the Wifi Tether that stinebd was wonderful enough to figure out for us. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=5096 Here is the latest rootfs.img patched with MrPippy's RIL Library modifications. Just extract and copy it over your existing. This will preserve your data for CDMA and give you the latest changes to the rootfs.img. Make sure you are on the current kernel.

Enjoy!

I should note, use at your own risk, stinebd nor I are responsible for any data charges you may incur with your provider. Hopefully you are just seen as phone traffic, but you have been warned!

Ok so?? umm, someone gonna update post # 1 with this new rootfs and is the kernel and module from this gonna be autobuilt and placed on glemsom's site?

I do not think this kinda thing should be released here unless you want to monitor every post to see what conflictions this causes. I too am on IRC and I don't spill over what they post in the chat.

On a personal level, I have not liked your posts about me combining all the files together blah blah and putting them one place for people to download. I don't get what your problem is with that but if it helps people, why shoot it down? Download #'s speak for itself and there are hundreds of people being helped by someone putting all this into an easy extraction. Seems kinda stupid to me.

I think it's helpful to post some developments here to as not all people monitor the IRC chatroom.

until pippy updates a rootfs or a kernel and module is posted on glemsom or startup.txt is modified by pippy, I consider it a beta test. There are users on IRC for that, not needed on a forum like this. We don't have the manpower in this thread to handle if something goes majorly wrong before its thoroughly tested.

My two cents: Not all users who are technical enough to beta have time to monitor IRC. So for those people cflynt's post(s) are very helpful.

On the other hand, people in this thread seem to have enough trouble just following the instructions in posts 1 & 3, so introducing beta may be a bad idea.

All that being said, the whole Android on a TP2 thing is beta. If you don't know what you are doing, you shouldn't be doing it. However if you read this thread there is more than enough information (and people willing to help) to get you on your way and test all the beta you want. If you are incapable/unwilling should we as a community really care?

(In other words, just cause a few people will get super confused and mess stuff up why should the rest of us suffer?)

if something does end up being introduced into development, it will end up being in the kernel and modules so what is a few days of wait or in a modified rootfs and startup.txt by pippy? that is my whole point. I have spent many years (atleast 10) in forums like this, I know what I am talking about.

And if you would see my posts, you would see I am packing up new stuff all the time. This guy has an obvious issue with me packaging it all together for you guys and I finally called him out on it. Again, I can show the download #'s and there are hundreds of people using the prepackaged latest and greatest with all the touchscreen fixes incorporated (567 to be exact for the megaupload link I posted). There are alot of inconsistencies in post # 1 by Pippy explaining how to do this, especially if your a N00b. That is why I put it out there for all to enjoy and will continue to do so, whether cflynt wants to say how easy it is and blah blah blah blah ..save your comments dude.

Um. Nobody was attacking you personally.

This seems to conflict with what you said above about waiting. I have no idea what problem you and "this guy" have. I personally don't use your packages, but thank you for posting them anyways because I think it is a great service you are providing for other users.

Since you seem to have a problem with post #1 and want to release continual updated all in one packages, maybe you should start your own thread with the prepacked builds and better instructions? It sounds like lots of people would appreciate that.

Again, I wasn't trying to attack you. Was just posting my thoughts that the more beta released the better (I may not have time to follow IRC, but I am still imaptient ) . I apologize if it came across as slight against you in any way.
