Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
IDK if it worked with the stock Google Maps built into the ROM. I downloaded the latest from the market (4.1), and it does work. I've tried it in two places now, and it found my location both times.

You may also find that if you're outside of wi-fi range, you may get no location. Someone should try it. I may be totally wrong, but that's how it seems to work for me. Robb |

Actually wifi can be more precise then that there is an app called 'wififofum' it is a wifi scanner that locates wifi points and maps them on a raider...and its pretty accurate..It didn't do too well with height which is expected of wifi but it narrowed down to around 5ft if I was on the same level..it new the direction of the wifi point as well
The scanner is for windows mobile and free..you can play around it with it |
Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
Just an update to those lucky enough to be able to charge. I installed the new Sprint ROM, and tried, and it is charging of course as long as you plugged in before booting to Android. Only tried Activesync so far, will try just brick here later. Again I don't know that I would LEAVE it overnight like this, but to give you a trickle charge to get back to 100% at least. But you do need to be plugged in, in windows mobile first. I was not able to do this with all my tests with MightyRom 2.1. And also to note, and I will update later, I haven't modded anything on the Sprint Rom yet, like turning off auto dim etc.

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2
I know GPS is not working, but with Google Maps 4.0, when I chose the options to get directions, it gave me the option for navigation and gave me the navigation screen. Like a Garmin.
I upgraded to the latest version and that option is gone.. I'll revert back to 4.0 to check it out, but I'm curious if anyone else noticed this. edit. I loaded Google Maps 4.0 and the Navigate option is there 4.1.0 removes it.. it may be doing a GPS check..but who knows. |

Again though, I can't stress this enough, I wouldn't leave your device charging this way for an extended period of time, like overnight for instance. Being as the charging code hasn't been completed I don't know for sure it shuts off charging when full, and would hate to see lots of you with blown up phones. |
