Okay with all builds you can't set up your gmail at inital start up for some reason.
1 i suggest you be connected to wifi due to it's fast speed
2 have background data and auto sync checked on (wheen it's green)
3. remove your gmail account and re add it again
4.if all go well it should start syncing automacticly
5. also with the sync option make sure all the sync options are check on (when it's green)

you can do the same thing with mail or any other contacts manager.

If you need to get them from your phone you can send them via bluetooth to your computer

Re: [3/6/2010] Google Android for TP2 CDMA [In Dev]

Phone calling issue. I dialed my homephone and left a vmail. Seems that my voice is not coming across. There was no sound in the vmail. Im not sure if I can hear other people yet. Also while talking I can hear my own echo in the phone. I was under the impression that loading haret while in a call on the WM side wasnt necessary anymore so im not sure what the problem is.

I'm having a problem where it displays the following error after launching Haret.exe, "Something used micropklt_lcd_ctrl. This function should no longer be used." This error is displayed repeatly until the device crashes. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated

That looks like the settings for setting an exchange server. Not needed to set up a gmail exchange account with Android. Just input your username and password. Apparently doesnt work on the first go round like the poster said earlier but after a restart worked just fine for me.
