Wrong. NAND is not all that fast. The Vogue ROMs don't run any faster than the ones via HaRET

HaRET is awesome, the ability to have two OS's on the same device is a clever idea. Honestly who doesn't like options? Take your WinMo to the office and boot Android on your way out! A device for all occasions!

Re: Android, it's alive!.. (2.0.1) - Updated 12/24
hi, trying to get android working on my tp2 however seem to be struggling....
i have formatted my memory card appropriately, extracted the files of "Android201-122409-Ego.zip" to the root, edited the startup file seperatly with several different versions but it still won't fully boot even after leaving for 45min or more. The error it seems to display in the text is: "INFO: rpcrouter:13 blocked for more than 120 seconds" - it displays that for 120 seconds and repeast itself. I have a RHOD100, anyone have a startup.txt for me to try? |

I'm really impressed with this! I'm on Telus, so my device is pretty much strictly CDMA. (I don't plan on using it with a SIM card unless I leave Canada, in which case I'd probably pick up a SIM for a US GSM carrier).
Installation was a breeze... I don't know how so many people are having problems. I have a ton of other junk on my SD card and HaRET booted Android up just fine. I put all the files at the root of the card, which is formatted FAT32. (Ie: unzipped the archive right at \Storage Card so that startup.txt, HaRET.exe, etc. are at root and the rest of the folders are one level up, \Storage Card\media for example.) Right off the bat, the phone will dial out. The phone says "(No Service) Telus" on the locked screen but when I dialed my home number, my home phone rang. I didn't have to call into my voicemail and leave it connected before running HaRET. There is no mic or speaker output, but that is small potatoes in my opinion. If the phone can dial out and make another phone ring already, making the sound work without initializing a phone connection before running HaRET is just another small hurdle. When I tried the call in to voicemail work-around, the mic and internal speaker both work flawlessly. At this point, CDMA data doesn't seem to be working, nor WiFi. I'm confident that this will come along quickly. The Machinist's screen calibration is right on the money! (Thanks, BTW). Really looking forward to seeing this happen, as I'm getting really sick and tired of WM's antics, as much as I love it's flexibility in comparison to BB or the iPhone. Is there a way to soft restart from within Android without using stylus once you are done? I hate having to use the reboot switch.

Running on a Class 6 SD 8gb SD card already formatted FAT32 with a bunch of other stuff. Booted in a couple minutes. |
