so, are you just "running" android? you don't actually flash the phone to android?

Do you have to re run the launch program every time you boot the phone?

Use this link if you are trying to add the Android OS.
And yes you just boot this from your SD card. It is cool because you can just do a soft reset and bam, you are back to your old ROM.

i have a question i have not seen in the thread unless it was overlooked. Once running the android OS , is there an app that will let me do a soft reset within Android without having to pull the back cover off and manually reset? I have not found a reset within the OS I can use .

I got it to load, kinda. but it somehow went into a very different language than English. Anyone know how I can set it back to English?

I just caught up on this thread yesterday and started playing around with this morning's civic build. Confirmed that this works on Sprint TP2 and that voice in/out work. I did call my VM first and then ran Haret.exe so I'm not sure if this step was needed. I also needed to go into the Android settings phone options to have it join/discover the cell network.

Pretty snappy overall. I did notice that sliding answer for incoming calls was difficult and I had to use the talk button. Sliding the to see the dial buttons during a call didn't work for me either.

Really looking forward to having either data or wifi working as this adds so much more value to the TP2.

It says "No Service," but you should still be able to make and receive calls, no data though.

I saw mention on the thread that someone got an ATT SIM card and had that working on the Android build.

2 other questions:

1. Did you have to unlock security or anything else to get the SIM card to work with Android on TP2?

2. Has anyone else looked into cheap pay-as-you-go services that use SIM card?

I tried making a call and the dialer just disappears. I don't know if i need my sim unlocked or not but everything loads up just when i hit call it disappears

How long should this take to load on a VZW TP2? I run HaRET and it scrolls the code, but then stops and nothing happens. I unzipped the zip file onto a blank micro-SD card, then ran HaRET from the card.... anything I am missing?

Thanks in advance.

Like many others have said, it can take up to 10 minutes.

Reformatted the card to FAT32, loaded the 1/25 build, and booted just fine. I am blown away! Can't' wait for full functionality.

did you call your voicemail and hit haret up to get the awesome ability to make and recieve calls?

I just did i while ago and was very impressed, i called google 411 and bing 411 both worked perfect :)

tested calling my voicemail and it wasent able to detect my fingre press on the ui dialpad and times out at 28 seconds

Id like to see a succesfull data test and my money is in the donation bin

so do you still have to initiate a call before you run haret or are you not supposed to have to do that. I can dial and people can hear me but I can not hear them. I thought the new build meant you don't need to call before going into android (i'm probably wrong though)

From my personal experience and per the change log, this is no longer a requirement.

no offense but for some reason the line " get the awesome ability to make and receive calls " makes me chuckle as we discuss this in a phone thread...LOL

1) I had to unlock the phone using the HardSPL.
2) Then pay for and run the security unlocker: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...26#post1284826
3) Install the 2.23.00WU Radio http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=106571

4) Download the Jan 7th Android Build and extract it to the root of your SD card: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=K9I9GZ88

5) I then purchased and installed an ATT SIM card with data and 500 mins just to play with. I'll keep it active for 2-3 months.

6) Turn your phone to GSM Mode. (Personal -> Phone -> Network) You should see it's connected to AT&T or TMobile, etc.
7) Launch Haret.exe from your sd card. Voila.

Phone works. Data Works.

I plan on using my google voice to forward to the att phone number just to play around more.

Hope this helps.

What SIM did you purchase? I'm curious as to what the data costs are, etc? Can you link me or give me a bit more info?

I played with Android on my TP2 last week for a couple of minutes and just got bored. I was curious what people were actually doing with Android on there phone at this stage of the development. It also seemed pretty laggy as well.

using the jan 24th release I have to initiate a call in sprints network first before running haret.exe to maintain an available voice network. I can see how gsm voice and date working as this is a gsm port. Great feedback so far though :)

Make sure the delete everything that dealt with the old build, reload the new build call your voicemail and leave it on as you run Haret and you will be able to make and receive voice calls.

I am waiting for this to get data to work and ill use it :D

Ditto on looking forward to data/wifi. Just loaded 95-civics 01-24 build, quite a bit smoother. This is going to really cool when we have an internet connection. Now if only the price of class 6 16GB SDHC's would drop some.
