one could concievably create an android runtime environment within winmo and run android apps.

When you use this to boot Android is it more like a dual boot or is it one or the other. I am interested in being able to switch between seamlessly them.

It's basically a dual boot, you run haret.exe and it will load android into the kernal(as far as my understanding goes) and then you can always reset your device to get windows mobile back.

You do not have to put it in the root. I just put it in a folder called android, and it works correctly. Nice to know...

You are incorrect as many were not able to run it from anything except the root(me for instance).

the files do not need to be on the root of the sd card, they can be in a folder on the root of the card. I just had this same conversation with some people yesterday in this thread. Just because you couldn't get it to boot doesn't mean it doesnt work. You probably would of had the same issues booting if you put the files on the root to begin with

aparantely in order for android 2.01 to work
only that file has to be in the memory card...
if you put anything else in your memory card (eg:music, videos, apps, anything else) it wont run...
that happened to me so i dont know if its happened to anyone else... i have to buy another memory card and have it as a only for testing android on memory card..

no true at all i have a 16gb sd card and only 6gb are free and i was able to boot android 2.0.1 just fine. i don't see what problems you guys are having this process really isn't that hard. Download the file, unzip it, copy the files either to the root of the sd card or in a folder named android on the root of the sd card, open that folder on your phone and run haret. the phone will do the rest. just that simple
