Re: NAND Boot Testing - 12-14: Panel power on and off working on some devices

sorry for disappearing on you guys. For those of you who have seen the irc logs, we are still trying to hack thought he panel issues. Right now nothing is working like it should and have have some bugs that may not be entirely on the kernel.

For example when enabling the panel, i notice android setting the brightness up way before the kernel is even ready. So this causes a blank screen at times. ALso other times it looks like android sets the brightness full up and then back down to 0. wistilt, emwe and myself are looking at this right now so i hope to have something to report soon.

As for the rhod100 users, i just put the only init i know for the panel 0x14. Even if it does not match the dump, in reality it should work since its on the wince code for that panel id. Want me to commit that part of the code at least so they can test? rhod400/500 will still have occasional blanks and unblanks until the other issues is resolved.

As always, thanks for the update, but I hope you never feel obligated to post or do any kind of work. It's your free time, and we appreciate everything you've done for us.

For the rhod100 users, I wouldn't spend too much time working on that right now. I'm breaking apart a bunch of their ROM's right now to get the memory addresses used on their NAND. I have a feeling they have a different NAND chip than we do. I even have a couple of reports of people losing USB in their bootloader! I have put a warning out for rhod100 users until I get a chance to look at those.

I'm also ripping apart the shipped ROM's for the US variants to see how they partition the NAND. I know maurice.green already has partitions created on the NAND and everything, but I think he's extremely busy and hasn't had a chance to post any specific details on changes he's made. I'd really like to help get this whole thing moved to the NAND so I can play with the update.zip method :P
