Re: NAND Boot Testing - 04-06: FRX06 on NAND (Testing FRX06 now!)

Ok, so if you don't rename the system files to update.zip they will install but will not boot. The error message given states the modules are not installed correctly, but from what i can see it it doesn't even make an andboot folder on your sd. Secondly, selecting reboot from the recovery menu reboots the phone straight back into the recovery. You have to pull the battery to get it to boot android. I'll give you guys more feedback after i have a couple hrs to play with it.

Thanks again! You guys are the best!

I'll task 29 again and see what happens..update tomorrow/late tonight.

Btw. my battery just died, so I guess tomorrow ;)

oh, as a reminder RHOD300 here - pure GSM awesomeness ;)

Well I have no SIM, I'm on a RHOD400 on Sprint - I get to recovery every single time, don't have to hit a button.

Hope you can charge your phone!

Just read the above post, I'll try that.

Edit - worked! It appears to be booting now at least :D.

Well, it did boot. Sat at the boot animation for what felt like an eternity :p. Once I was in things were pretty snappy - but no data. 3g icon showed... One of my tasks is to test the new RIL with NAND, so I'll hopefully be able to muck with this tomorrow.

Re: NAND Boot Testing - 04-06: FRX06 on NAND (Testing FRX06 now!)

just re-flashed CM7 nightly on my HD2, so let me go back to my good ol' RHOD and see if I can wake her up ;)

edit: nope, no luck here..or I'm just really tired ;)
I get stuck in booting into recovery every time, tried the following:
- leave .zip with default name on root of sdcard - no go, wouldnt install anything on sdcard, not even create andboot folder
- change .zip name to update.zip - same as above
- change name to update.zip and create folder andboot on root - same, andboot was empty after installing .zip
- moved update.zip into andboot and installed from tere - only file in andboot was update.zip

all of above gave booted me directly into recovery without pressing any buttons, cant activate fastboot mode with holding "back arrow" under the screen

arrrgh, could you please tell me exactly how you set it up? I can see you both have CDMA RHOD's, so it might be a GSM issue.

Thanks =)

Please enlighten me how do I setup the profile 0 and profile 1 in the APN, I have never seen that happen there. Do we enter our MEID@HCM.sprintpcs.com and do we enter the AAA shared key in HEX format? Where do we enter the HA shared key "secret"? Can you please explain this more?

Thanks.

Re: NAND Boot Testing - 04-06: FRX06 on NAND (Testing FRX06 now!)

my consistent experience: if i reboot or turn off the phone via software or reboot using the reset button w/ stylus i automatically boot into recovery and can't get out. However, if i pull the battery android boots. Hope this helps

The phone shows i have 3d data, but the browser and market won't work. (using cdma data on my Rhod400). Also wifi is unable to scan for networks

Re: NAND Boot Testing - 04-06: FRX06 on NAND (Testing FRX06 now!)

Well I'm not entirely sure why we are all of the sudden having this many issues. I'm going to roll back a patch or two and see if that will help, but we will then lose GSM. I can't even get into adb shell to see what's going on with the system or bootlog...

As for people not being able get out of recovery I have no idea why that is happening. That is something that I can not replicate, but I will try... Could be the button is still thinking it is pressed down??? That's why pulling the battery works... We are having issues with LK's buttons and this is one of them... It works for me on my 500.

I will hopefully have some answers soon. :)

EDIT:
Renaming the update.zip is NOT necessary, I'm guessing it was just a fluke that is worked...

extract boot.img, we got file boot.img-kernel.gz , does this file same as xdandroid zImage or had do some modify in order to run in NAND
