Re: NAND Boot Testing - 03-11: FRX05 on NAND (data working again!)

Excuse my ignorance, but how do I boot into recovery? I have it installed but tried VOL UP and it just gave me a bunch of messages saying the key wasnt binded?

EDIT: Never mind, got in, had to press it right when it says the message. I have a black screen with a little green android on the bottom left... Pressed POWER and a blue menu popped up...testing backup & recovery now... Will post back results.

EDIT 2: USB MS switch works, Im not worthy of an ADVANCED menu...(lol) and Backing up as I type...

Screen has:
Code:

Box with arrow pointing out to a green little android dude

-- Backup to sdcard...

(progress bar at bottom got to 20% then)

Backing up data

(progress bar stopped... waited...)

backup complete!

Checking /sdcard content with the USB MS.... 256MB databackup.img

EDIT 3: Will try the restore, but first I will clear DATA...reboot to make sure data is clear...ERROR: modules not installed, to install androidupdate.tgz blah blah...
Rebooting into recovery to restore...

Screen has:
Code:

Box with arrow pointing out to a green little android dude

-- Restore from sdcard...
Checking sdcard...

Restoreing up data  <==  Yes, it's mispelled... :D

(progress bar at bottom moved to 20%)

restore complete!

Rebooting to test restore....XDANDROID boot animation (looking good!)...

SUCCESS! :) Back on my home screen just as I left it! Good job!!! :toothy7:\\:D/

yeah the progress bar wont be ready until the next big release which wont happen for a while.lol. But it looks like you have everything else.

The advanced menu is just for animals .. it will include fix perms and recovery upgrade. Not sure what else ill throw in there but it will all depend on what obstacles we run into as we use this more.

Also depending on how things go with GB and xdandroid, we might have OTA upgrades since we can enable wifi on recovery. The possibilities are endless actually.

From previous post, just in case you didn't see the EDIT.... DATA WIPE is working too good, wiping out everything, gives me an error saying it's missing stuff... Might want to take a look at that...

No no, it's wrong in the recovery! It should be restoring but it says restoreing...

I didn't know Wifi worked..! I was under the impression it didn't work and that the reason why Wireless Tether did work was because of wifi not working...! hmmmm..

wifi works.. so now sure what the issue is. i'll have to get logs from you fellas for that. maybe its something on the builds themselves we have online. Since our own copies work. I know it works for sure since thats the only way Nate can adb into his device .lol

WIFI works. Just need to make sure you have the androidupdate too. The modules need to be the same as the kernal.

I did install androidupdate.tgz from 3.17.11 when I reinstalled it. I even reflashed the 3.17.11 nbh just in case...instead of 3 files in andboot I had 4:

androidinstall.tgz
androidupdate.tgz
recoveryinstall.tgz
install-seq.sh
