1. before you posted that, I did some research on my own - I flashed via fastboot recovery image from Index of /files/LK/ to recovery partition (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img) and was able to access recovery via holding power. Couldn't access it reliably every time, but from what i read power button has issues now. Now, from recovery I flashed androidupdate.tgz and it seems to have worked as it took about 5min, so I think recovery is able to mount sd card properly (if it couldn't find and process the file on sd card installation of android wouldn't take that long imo). After that quick reboot from recovery and I flashed updated boot image from your last post to boot partition via fastboot (fastboot flash boot boot.img) and got boot loop.
when I got back to recovery and tried to pull cat from sdcard, i got error:
/ # ←[6nmount sdcard
mount sdcard
mount: mounting /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 on /sdcard failed: No such file or directory

oh, and battery just died on me in recovery - I'll update post when it charges and I install new recovery to boot partition

EDIT: i could not pull mtd0 or mtd1 cats from setup above - didn't throw any errors, but created no file on sdcard

2. now per your instructions - recovery image
-task29
-flash NBH via RUU (btw. "XDAPOOP"? you guys really don't like each other much, huh? lol)
-fastboot boot recovery.img
-adb.exe shell
-mount sdcard
mount: mounting /dev/block/mmcblock0p1 on /sdcard failed: No such file or directory.
-cat /dev/mtd/mtd0 > sdcard/mtd0.txt
-cat /dev/mtd/mtd1 > sdcard/mtd1.txt
no results as before - no file created, no errors thrown

Hope that can be of help.

huge thanks for your time Lmiller - I really want to get it to work =)
Thanks for the Help! But the SDcard need to be found or mounted first.

Try pulling the files to your Fastboot folder.
adb pull /dev/mtd/mtd0 mtd0.txt
adb pull /dev/mtd/mtd1 mtd1.txt

This is good info. Looks like the LK for GSM is starting at 2820000 (0x141) while the LK for CDMA is 3000000 (0x180). Which makes sense because the offset of CMDA to GSM is 7E0000 (0x3F).

So right now I'm thinking that we should have two NBH's. One for GSM and one for CDMA. The kernels and mtdparts can still be the same.

Here is the New NBH for GSM ONLY: http://www.mediafire.com/?js6g41nix3a8kte

Give it a try! If it don't work please dump the mtd0 and mtd1 again for me.

Re: NAND Boot Testing - 04-06: FRX06 on NAND (Testing FRX06 now!)

New NBH still doesn't let me access recovery, just like the previous one - it throws the same error, but this time with (4096 errors).
Attached zips of mtd0 and mtd1 pulled after fastboot boot recovery.img. adb still cant mount sdcard.

Btw. If I manually flash recovery image to recovery partition I am able to access it from lk, which leads to a question: does current GSM or previous universal NBH include recovery at all or should I keep on flashing recovery.img manually via fastboot? Your original instructions didn't mention flashing recovery.img at all and I'm a bit confused here.

Anyway, upon flashing recovery manually I can boot into it from phone and it seems like it's installing androidupdate.tgz. If I flash boot.img to boot via fastboot I end up with boot loop, but I tried just booting boot.img via fastboot without flashing it and it gets stuck at:
[21.628204] msm72k_udc: ept #2 out max:512 head:ffc0c100 bit:2
[21.696350] mdp irq already on 4 4
[21.714172] mdp_dma: busy

at this point I pulled mtd0 and mtd1 just in case all zips attached - _new_nbh is with new GSM NBH using fastboot boot recovery.img, _fastboot is with manually flashed recovery and fastboot boot boot.img pulled when android got stuck.

Hope it helps.

Re: NAND Boot Testing - 04-06: FRX06 on NAND (Testing FRX06 now!)

I haven't had time to mess with this lately, but what's the scoop?

Last time I tested was 3.29.11 but wasn't as smooth as 3.22.11

EDIT:

For CDMA, is there a way in Android to edit the PST or DATA stuff? The only real reason why I would have to flash Windows Mobile to the TP2...

We should have something to test either late tonight or tomorrow.
GSM should now be working too but we will need some testers...

As far as I know there is no way, I know the Vogue users always had to flash back to WinMo to do this too...

My phoneis unlocked for GSM but currently only using CDMA. I don't have a GSM sim card to play with... :-/

Looking forward to the new update! I now have the Samsung EPIC, what better phone than that!

CDMA data settings are all handled by the APN editor in the updated framework. No need for epst or whatever.
