I'm not particularly sure for wimax in specific..but if you look at it..any time your using a phone they can triangulate where you are... hence the "Use Wireless networks" option..any form of 2 way communication can always be traced in 1 form or another..

Well, the gps is actually built into snapdragon chipset, so i doubt they'd incorporate a second radio for it just to spy on you.
