It does this by nullifying requests to known hostnames serving ads.
But I think its rather useless because, yes it blocks the ad but still leaves the box where the ad would be with a spinning cursor, so no real space saved. ![]()

It works by sending all the ad servers to 127.0.0.1. While it doesn't remove the ad box, you don't have to wait for the ad to load.

Rooted on Evo. I use this app and it blocks the adds and I do get the full screen. I've never seen this blank space you're talking about with a spinning cursor. It's like I have paid versions for apps where there used to be ads.
