Could have just taken your old phone and the Evo to a Sprint store and had them do the phonebook transfer...either way both work..
That's too un-geek-like

Google contacts is the way to go. All contacts are backed up and restored from the cloud! Sign in go your Google account and It's automatic.

Re: Is there a program I can download to back up my contacts?

Or if you have MS Outlook you can sync your contacts off your old phone to Outlook and Htc updated sync now supports outlook. So just sync them from Outlook to your Evo...

It may be un Geek Like but it's way less stressful than doing it via Gmail or backing it up on the SD card....depending on where you got your phone...If you got it from the Sprint store they do that before you leave the store...BB or RS....no so much...

So there is no PIMbackup for Android?
