Re: Sling mobile screw job.

Personally, I don't want to have to pay $30 for something I already have on a different OS, but eventually I will end up buying it again. I think the OP is correct. If they stated that he/she didn't have to pay again, then they (sling media) should honor it. It’s only right!!! But then again, the "so-called" techs might not have had the correct information when he/she called. My only question to the OP is how did he know the person he talked to was "ghetto?"

Re: Sling mobile screw job.

I think we get it but do you really need to clutter the ppc boards with your anger against slingplayer? These posts belong on the slingplayer website not here.

Re: Sling mobile screw job.

I understand ya fully.

Take this into consideration, the same apps on the iPhone for $1 costs $10 on the iPad.

IMHO though, does your WM Case work on your EVO, or did you have to buy a new one?
It's like you own MS Office for Windows, but have to buy MS Office for your MAC.

Perhaps they should offer a type of discount pricing for owners of previous/other versions.

I am sure that after the initial customers shell out for the full priced android app (at $30), slingmedia will probably offer a discounted upgrade path for the remainder of the android customers holding out. So either wait a little to buy at a discount, or let the wonderful world of Google allow you to bypass the whole marketplace when some enterprising folk figure out how to make it work.

As for the transfer of license to a new phone, I do not think that slingmedia indicated that they would allow transfer of license to a new operating system (Palm Pre, Iphone, Android). Not aware of any software manufacturer that does that (correct me if I am wrong on that one please).

Anyway, peace to all that are patient.

Re: Sling mobile screw job.

so u bought sling for winmo and you are upset that you have to buy it again for android now?! perhaps im being unreasonable but i fail to see how that is screwing you. its an entirely different OS. i bought the game zenonia for winmo and bought it again when i moved to android, didnt even consider that was "screwing" me. if you bought a piece of $30 software for a pc, then moved to mac, would the company be screwing you because you have to purchase the mac version, of course not. perhaps i dont fully understand your situation but imo slingbox really is not in the wrong.

Re: Sling mobile screw job.

Yea it seems most of u dont understand y most ppl are upset.

Ive had a slingbox since the ppc6700. Now from then until now heres been slings policy (I think its still on the website, maybe under faqs).

If u bought the sling media app directly from sling it will be able to transfer to one DEVICE at a time, regardless of platform. If u bought it from itunes, windows marketplace, it will be transferable throughout thier respective platforms. Now since i bought mine when there wasnt an appstore or marketplace it was directly through sling. Ive been able to transfer from all my winmo devices ppc6700-tp2 and sec gen ipod touch.

Now it seems as if they are changing their policy without warning. Anybody who bought the sling player from them was TOLD it would be a one time buy regardless of os or platform.

Im gonna wait and see if they offer sumtin. If not ill probably wait for other means to get it.

Kinda like this sprint $10 fee all ova again lol

Re: Sling mobile screw job.

There policy as of this minute does not address which phones,os.

read there site. http://support.slingbox.com/get/KB-1000194.html
Here is a funny part.
Your SlingPlayer Mobile registration key is only good on one device at a time. But you can transfer your original registration key and email address combination to your new device, as long as SlingPlayer Mobile is available for that device in the Sling Media store.
