Re: Slingplayer Mobile for Android releasing tomorrow! 6/22

Has anyone been able to get the apk file so we can test whether or not our old winmo keys will work on this version?

Well if that is the case id just go for a solo then, unless i can come across a HD for cheap

from my 700wx to my pro2 i had slingbox on these devices using verizon as my isp, the upload from verizon was 768kbps & not all of that is transfered over towards the slingbox application & it ran very well. along with upload speeds it helps to have a strong signal where ur using it at. 5mbps is alot of upload & i doubt it would transfer to the app.

really...i have it for windows mobile and i got updates all the time, i remember at one point i got annoyed that there was always a notification to update the newest one everytime i opened the app

If you are only going to use it on your phone then get the Solo. There are only two main differences between the two. The Pro HD will stream HD to a computer, but not a phone, the Solo will obviously only do SD. But again if you are watching it on your phone then they should both be the same quality.
The second difference may or may not be a big deal to you, it isn't for me. With the Solo then if you change the channel on your tv then it will also change the channel on your Slingplayer, and vice versa. The Pro HD however has its own tuner so you can be watching one thing at home and something different on your phone or computer on the same cable/satellite box.

Here is a comparison chart on the Slingbox site.

Re: Slingplayer Mobile for Android Released! 6/22/10

I'm streaming from a HD Pro to my Evo right now. I actually have a Solo for my dad (likes to watch sports out of Dallas) and a Pro for myself. I have a VIP 722 receiver (Dish Network) and have the receivers HD tuner out going to the Pro and the SD tuner signal going to the solo. It took a while to set up but it runs flawless. I also think the video/sound quality is great on 3G or on my wifi. I do have a 2 Mbps upload speed. On 3 G I average 1.5 Mbps. It also appears to save your most recent channels kind of like a favorites list. Anyways, hope this helps.
