Re: Xda
It's slow because the XDA site is always slow. When they fix the speed issues with the server, it will make their app run faster as well.

Re: Xda
Yeah, the XDA client is loading slow for me too.
If you have Tapatalk, you can search for PPCGeeks. We've been using their plugin for a while now, but since there's no WM version, it doesn't get used much. Our site seems to load much faster in there than XDA does.

Re: XDA App
I wonder why did they need their own version of tapatalk. Couldn't they just been listed in tapatalk? I also hope they get some sort of forum bookmark system going. Scrolling through that list is painful.

Re: XDA App
just started using tapatalk today and its not bad on ppcgeeks. xda takes forever to load. i too wonder why xda created their own, thats weird. maybe tapatalk is invested in xda, who knows. overall tapatalk is a nice client. im trying to decide if i like browsing tapatalk or the actual web

Re: XDA App
Tapatalk offers a rebranded version of their app, which lets you brand it for your own site and even release it in the Android Market, which is what XDA did.
1) Its not cheap, we got a quote already 2) The end user doesn't need the Pro version to be able to post to the forums. I think we could charge for the app in the Market if we wanted, but it would probably be free. 3) Without the Pro version, you can only read forums, unless you downloaded a rebranded one for a specific site, like XDA's. So, I could see the benefit of having this, but we also offer WiForums, which XDA has never really had a mobile site before. |

Thanks for the insight! I really like WiForums too. More forums should use it. |
