I have experienced worse at fileshare download sites wich actually were fatser but loaded with all kinds of virus/spyware/malware/keyloggers/rogue programs(hotfix.exe latest),
and now I have the worst of all threats "Rootkits" which run silent and change system files to gain access without being detected by ANY antivirus program.
Im going to have to go back to dual boot days for downloading in Linux...
If you have any suspicions of having "rootkits", run:
free version of mbam http : // www . malwarebytes . org
Also run quick scan and post log combofix http : // www . bleepingcomputer . com
