An incorrect reg change in the "777" line can be the culprit.
Also, if you ever use "advance config" program, it will incorrectly put "GPRS" into the "777" reg edit line.
Also, Old Dialers "dll" & other progs like incorrect taskbar "dll" can also cause probs..

Last tip:
I always take out my SD card if flashing from computer in case rom tries to look for files to install without my permission
