Losing email name and password with soft reset?

Okay, I seem to have successfully flashed my Verizon Vogue to Alltel. Now the only remaining problem is that when I soft reset or update tower (which forces a reset) my email password and username is dumped. Anyone else have this problem? I have searched but have come up empty.

i hate this problem... 2 options
1) create a new 'line' in connections and select it to be your default
2) create a provxml and import that should fix it.

Okay, I made a new connection and the settings stay after a reset. It, however wont stay as my default after a reset but it looks like it is selecting the new connection since there is no settings in the original.
Now, excuse my ignorance but what is a provxml and how do you import it?

UPDATE:
Well I thought I had it going. I can delete the stock ALLTEL WIRELESS but of course it comes back on power cycle or reset. It seemed that with no setting in the "Alltel" configuration it would try to dial out on the alternate connection I made.
Well I got up this morning and it's trying to dial out on the Alltel line. I can select AUTO or my alternate connection and it works for a while.
What is it with HTC or is it Windows? I had a 6700 2 years ago that did the same thing and sold the phone because of the hassle trying to receive email.
Can someone enlighten me on the "provxml" solution?
