Question U.S. cellular a few questions please

I've been doing some searching on these forums and was wondering how ppl refer to us cellular as you can't search the term US Cellular because US isn't 3 characters, this has made doing this search difficult.

Anyway, I'm wanting to unlock my phone and try some different roms, as I want to find something more fitting to me. I am just hoping that someone can answer a few questions. I have a friend that has a verizon touch pro and has flashed it a multitude of times to find one that he is happy with. and I see verizon listed all over this website, so it's safe to assume that the verizon roms are pretty easy to switch over.

Will I have any problems, ie need passwords, domains, etc... to stay connected to my uscellular account after a flash?

Are most/all cdma roms safe for the uscellular touch pro as it is a cdma carrier?

Any suggestions for roms for the USCellular touch pro?

P.S. I'm new to these forums and so I apologize if I haven't posted these questions in the right section. I have tried to research this before just asking and have struggled to find the answers, so this is why I am asking, not because I am lazy and don't know how to use the search function...LoL

Thanks!

Re: U.S. cellular a few questions please

US Cellulars phone is identical to everyone except Verizons, so if it says the rom is multi-carrier, it should work. Something to remember, most custom roms don't include the mms app, to be more compatible I believe, but USCC does support MMS, so you will need to find an app in order to be able to send/recv picture messages.

I use one called amms.cab, it was sent to me by a friend, so not sure where it can be downloaded, but I'm sure with some searching it can be found.

Other than that, pretty much all multi-carrier CDMA roms should work.

I have tried MightyMikes, SSS, and DCD's, each has their goods and bads, I really like the stability of DCD's, but no Manila is a bummer, the rest have both Manila and Titanium. I don't like the Titanium interface as it has no launch app bar, and I really HATE the 6.5 start menu. If anyone knows a way to use the old startmenu with 6.5, I might be more willing to live with 6.5's issues.

I think SSS's looked the best, but is really "Sprint" optimized, my phone kept showing Spring everywhere, even tho I was still on US Cell's towers. But I will probably end up going back to this rom.

Update
Actually I just had to go into Connections and rename the connection to US Cellular and I no longer see Sprint anywhere.
