ActiveSync on Vista won't recognize TP after every time I flash any ROM. Any fix ?

This happens without a fail. Every time I have flashed the TP (and even Diamond) with any ROM, the ActiveSync (actually the Sync Center on Vista) does not recognize TP anymore. I am forced to restart the PC to sync it backup again.

Has anyone else experienced it ? Any solution ?

So far I have flashed close to 100 times on my Vista laptop and have had this happen twice now..... only thing that would fix it is restarting the PC. Dont know why this happens....

My question to you is what do you use the Device center for, just flashing or more?

I dont even have vista and for some reason my tp wont sync with my comp..have no idea why and just always flash via sdcard but currious kinda as to why it would sync at work but not here at home lol

Very similar to my problem because I can sync and flash fine on my Vista machine but my work XP machine has never sucessfully flashed my TP , have to flash from the sdcard when I am at work

I have seen the opposite... my XP works ok , i.e., can reconnect with TP after flash but not the Vista unless I restart, and honestly home PC is where I flash most of the time.

I just confirmed again - XP lets me connect via ActiveSync after every reflash, but Vista forces me to restart PC.... sob sob...

It's really a PITA as I sync to Outlook after every flash.

Thats really wierd..... wish I knew what to say to help but I am useless......

Do you depend on Outlook for your day to day operations??? I have been using the Microsoft MyPhone beta and effectively have freed myself from using outlook to restore my info.

No - not for home contacts, which is what I primarily care about. I also keep the contacts in sync wit my wife's Diamond. so not sure

1. How would I sync TP and Diamond with the same MS MyPhone ?

2. Does MS MyPhone also sync with Outlook ? As I would definitely need to keep a copy of all the contacts etc on PC.

3. How do I sync up my IE Favorites ?

well it could be some reg files on your vista is going corrupt maybe A reinstall vista because iam running vista and done like idk over 100 flashes and works fine on vista and windows 7, but i know if you just flashed and have not synced your phone yet you will not be able to do other flash unless your in the boot screen.

I think that is the case. Sync works faeyne until I flash. And then it would not sync until I reboot. This is all Vista story... but on XP flashing does not stop the syncs after wards
