5. When you sign up for seven, you get a cab file you run. It creates an email account (looks like any other pop / imap account, but is push). So, if I recall correctly, you don't have to enter any server info, the cab does it for you.

Seven beta is not really free. It requires you to receive international text messages which you must pay for..

True, but it only does this when you install the app. So it "should" only be a one time charge...

I've messed with this beta a little already and that term (international text messages) makes me laugh every time I see it.
How does it differ from international email?

Don't forget about the gmail IMAP pusher application:

http://www.codeplex.com/ImapPusherService

It makes up for Pocket Outlook's lack of IMAP IDLE support.

Has anyone used this successfully?

Re: Push E-mail questions

I just use Mail2Web's Live service. They recently upgraded to Exchange 2007 so I now have html based email and I use use my gmail email address as my reply to. I think the service will be 5 bucks a month but that isn't really bad considering I get all the features I want now.

Is the only "negative" thing about the Seven client the international text message thing? If so it must be pretty good then!

It's extremely good. Battery drain is fairly minimal for a push-based e-mail solution. If you already run something like Palringo which keeps your data connection up all of the time, you won't notice any change in battery life.

e-mail is always instant, 100% reliable. Integrates with the default windows e-mail client perfectly, you wouldn't even know SEVEN was there 99% of the time.

I just wish I had a way to block the international texts. Sprint won't shut off international texts.

My roomate is from Spain, and he is on a shared plan with me. He can't make international calls out to his parents in Valencia (we tried it without the plan, just to see). So, no calls, but texts will go through just fine? It's pretty frustrating. SHUT IT OFF, SPRINT!

Question about windows Live...
I've noticed that my current contacts on my TP arent automatically imported into my Windows live account, is there a setting a I can change to make this happen?

Yes:

1) Go into Contacts
2) Select Menu
3) Choose Select Contacts => All (or Several)
4) Select Menu again (while your contacts are highlighted)
5) Scroll down and select Add to Windows Live (and select whether or not you also want to add them to Messenger).

Afterwards, your TP should sync automatically with your Live account.

Just as a note, be sure to save a copy of your current Pim.vol file in case something happens to your phone and/or Live account so you can restore your current contacts.

Also, when you add a new contact, just be sure to save them as Windows Live contacts rather than Outlook contacts to have them automatically saved / synced to your Live account.

Hope this helps (and if does, a thanks would be nice ).
