Angry Removing Alarm info and sprint text off TP homescreen

2 questions in one. Anyone know the registry hack to remove the alarm off the TP homescreen and also to alter the sprint text on the top right hand corner and get it to stay after you do a soft reset? I forgot the key to change it, but even when I did if you did a soft reset it went back to the sprint highlighted text.

Re: Removing Alarm info and sprint text off TP homescreen

To completely remove the alarm from showing on the Home page I think you'd need a manila tweak. You might try some of the theme posts and see if there are any that don't show the alarm. (Edit: I think there are some TF3D clocks that will only show the alarm if you have an alarm set and will be blank rather than show "No Alarm" if you don't have one set)

To change where it says "Sprint" you could try "personalizer". It lets you change the text. I did read there were issues with it and picturemail on the TP.

To change the behavior of the clock/alarm when you touch them on the home page use SSMaPa, it will allow you to change what programs are launched when you select items in TF3D. I believe there's even a program that does nothing you can associate with the clock using SSMaPa so nothing happens if you hit the clock by accident.

Re: Removing Alarm info and sprint text off TP homescreen

Hi 02840, thanks for getting back to me. Two questions...
1.When you use personalizer will the fix stay because I tried changing the registry entry and it never stays?
2.I already love the way my TF3D home screen looks so will the SSMaPA just change the area around the clock?

BTW..thank you again.

The problem with personalizer is you will no longer "recieve" picturemail.. it will be online but it won't come down to your phone.

Re: Removing Alarm info and sprint text off TP homescreen

Haven't tried picture mail since I installed personalizer, but I'm wondering why picture mail wouldn't work if its only sprint labels your removing. I love all the tweaks, but sometimes they can cause other stuff to not work..too bad I guess.

Re: Removing Alarm info and sprint text off TP homescreen

I have no idea why it breaks picturemail but it is definite that it does. Several different users have been able to replicate the issue.. install personalizer, no receiving of picmail to the phone, uninstall and picmail comes down to the phone.. same for Pro and Diamond.... sprint roms. Not sure if its affected on other roms or not.

Re: Removing Alarm info and sprint text off TP homescreen

This thread

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=44689

Has a lot of info on manila.

Theres a ton of info over on xda-developers as well. It would be a lot easier if htc provided a real API for this stuff.

And there is

http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...anila_Research

That page showing which files do what.

Happy hacking. And remember, always backup your _manila files before you get in there with the spanners

Edit: for example, the file named 5fbd18e6_manila is the Home tab.

If you remove these lines
Code:
      <trans-unit id="IDS_ALARMOFF">
        <source>Alarm Off</source>
      </trans-unit>
That *might* get rid of the alarm line

Yeah, looks like it - see http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=587

I think getting rid of the carrier might be less easy.
