Re: Looking for a Sprint TP....
A bad ESN is an ESN that is connected to outstanding charges to an account or is a clone, and is already registered to another phone... A good/clean ESN means it has no marks against it and may or may not be registered... Once you get a Sprint TP, I recommend looking at this for a how-to guide on flashing to Verizon...

Re: Looking for a Sprint TP....
Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. I guess I should steer clear of bad ESN phones just to be safe.
Yea, I have that guide bookmarked, and saved. I've also been reading through it to give myself a general idea. Thanks again! |

Re: Looking for a Sprint TP....
How are people getting the sprint phone to go on the verizon network. They would not let me by the phone without creating an account to activate the phone.
So my only other option is best buy for $700+ and I seemed to get the impression that people were spending a lot less on the phone. Or should I be expecting to pay that much right now. |

Re: Looking for a Sprint TP....
If you are getting a Sprint TP with the intent to ONLY use it on Verizon, a bad ESN should not matter all that much. The ESN is bad because Sprint has it flagged, but really that won't matter if you are porting it to VZW as they have a completely different set of ESN records and that device has never been on their network.

Also, in the event something should go wrong with the phone, I can't call Verizon or Sprint to have it replaced. How do I get it fixed/replaced? Am I SOL? |

Re: Looking for a Sprint TP....
So theoretically, if I buy a phone from Sprint (without a contract), can I take it back to them for problems?
My last several phones (2 Apaches, and 3 Titans) needed to be exchanged with Verizon. I don't want to be stuck with a bad phone. |

Re: Looking for a Sprint TP....
To return the Sprint bought phone back to Sprint you would need an insurance plan.. Which means you would need an account.. You can buy from Best Buy for $700+ and get an insurance plan from them.. Or pay $579.99 for a TP from Sprint, but then have no recourse if it is defective.. It is a risk.. I always recommend staying away from bad ESN phones.. As it is said.. "Buyer Beware".. You could always call Verizon and do a fake run through.. Tell them you have a phone you need activated and go through the process..
