sliding keyboard doesn't wake device

Hello All... often when my TP2 has been dormant for while (I haven't used it for a few hrs), when I slide open the keyboard the device doesn't wake or trun on... 100% of the time it does when I close it and open it again, which leads me to believe this is a software and not hardware issue. It if was hardware I can't imagine that it'd work 100% off the time on the second slide.

any thoughts about this? I've done a soft reset.
Nathan

Re: sliding keyboard doesn't wake device

Make sure this registry setting isn't messed up:
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Hardware\DeviceMap\Keybd\
look for "SlideWakeup" the value should be: 1
in order to make your tp2 turn on when you slide out the keyboard

maybe it's helpful to mention that I'm on Sprint TP2 CDMA with stock ROM. Really appreciate the help!

Re: sliding keyboard doesn't wake device

I think you're supposed to have that entry.
It basically tells your phone to turn on when you slide out the keyboard.
I guess you can add the entry and see if it does anything.
It won't brick your phone since the entry is only designed to turn the phone on when you slide out the keyboard.
You can always delete it later.

Value Name: SlideWakeup
Value data: 1
Base: Decimal
Value Type REG_DWORD

Sorry man, I'm out of ideas. Mine wasn't turning on when I slid out the keyboard, and that registry setting was 0 for me, and it worked when I changed it to 1. There must be another registry setting, unfortunately I don't know it.

Re: sliding keyboard doesn't wake device

My verizon TP2 is the same. I usually wake it up before sliding and didn't even notice it for the first few days.Lol. No big deal to me.
