VZW: Is Visual Voice Mail worth it?

I have been using Youmail and I have been pretty happy with it. But every once and a while verizon's call forwarding will fail and a voice mail will slip through to verizon's system (if the phone is off and two people call at the same time, then one goes to the forward number, the other goes to verizon voice mail). When this happens it is a pain in the *** to switch so I can check my verizon voice mail.

So now that I have a phone with visual voice mail I am considering using that. I don't really get that much voice mail (maybe 3-5 messages a month), so the extra $3 a month is hard to justify.

How many of you use this service? How many of you think it is implemented nicely?

Re: VZW: Is Visual Voice Mail worth it?

I have it, it's very nice to see the messages organized by caller id. You can listen, it has a tracker bar (skip to any time), save & archive messages on the phone.... but I don't like how the program automatically runs when you get a new message. Also, the HTC notification is stuck letting you know you have a voicemail until you have an empty inbox (I keep some messages to refer back to sometimes).

Otherwise, it's only $3, I'm not going to complain. I like it.

Re: VZW: Is Visual Voice Mail worth it?

I've been using the Visual Voice mail since with the Touch Pro and have continued to use it with the Touch Pro 2. I think it is very handy to have.

Re: VZW: Is Visual Voice Mail worth it?

I'm planning on using it when I finally activate my VZW Touch Pro 2 (still waiting for a hardcase/holster combo because of Murphy's law). I was playing with a store demo unit that had it installed and thought it was nice that you could pick which messages to play instead of hearing all of them.

Re: VZW: Is Visual Voice Mail worth it?

it does seem handy but im not gonna spend the extra cash, same as vz navigator...might be nice to have but im not going to spend money every month on it when i could use a better product (garmin in my case). Also i think when you first activate a new device you should be able to trial vz nav and visual voicemail for the first month...or atleast a few days to see if its worth it to you

I like it, but the Widcomm Bluetooth stack doesn't.

Re: VZW: Is Visual Voice Mail worth it?

Well if you had it on the Touch Pro and just continue using it on the Touch Pro 2 then it is free. They add it to the bill when you first start using it but they couldn't add it for billing on the Touch Pro.
