Angry The reminder alerts are driving me crazy on the TP2!

The "Reminder Alerts" are driving me crazy on my Sprint TP2!

On my old Touch when I had a reminder flash on the screen the lower left soft soft key said "dismiss". The lower right soft key said "menu". When you clicked on "menu" you had the following choices:

snooze 5 minutes
snooze 10 minutes
snooze 15 minutes
snooze 1 hour
snooze 1 day dismiss all
view item

On the TP2 the lower left soft key just says "snooze" and the lower right soft key just says "dismiss". If I select "snooze" the reminder is constantly flashing on my screen every few minutes and driving me up the wall.

Is there a way to program the TP2 where you can select the amount of time you want with the "snooze" function?

Try this... It brings back the original reminder pop-up as well as the different snooze intervals....

yeah that used to drive me crazy. I never liked the new notification system. I don't know what they were thinking. It goes off like every minute.

I reviewed that link and after people installed it they had issues with their touch keyboards. I wouldn't want to add another issue after fixing the first one. Any other suggestions for how to fix this?

I know I remember being able to completely turn them off on my Wizard. How do we do that in WM6?

Here is an almost perfect hack. Basically, all you need to do is change the value of one registry key so that TouchFlo does NOT find the .dll that is driving this:

In HKLM_SYSTEM_Shell_Notification_OEM:

Change value for CustomUIDLL from NotificationLayout.dll to NotificationLayoutXX.dll

When you do this you'll notice that when an alarm goes off, you'll now get a Windows generated notice box instead of the TouchFlo generated box. Not quite as pretty, but it's a pretty good tradeoff. You should now be able to select the time to snooze using the menu on the lower right.

Have you already done this on your TP2? Are there any other side effects that you have noticed since doing it?

Yes. A couple days ago. Other than the standard Windows dialog box instead of TouchFlo, nothing.

Also, it's easy enough to reverse . ..just rename the .dll in the registry key to it's proper name by removing the letters you added at the end.

Thanks for the tip. Do you recommend that I do a soft reset after making his change?
