Can someone sum up how to fix video playback on the Touch Pro2?

I've searched the forum but there doesn't seem to be a guide for this problem.

I get lots of skipping on any video I try besides the YouTube app.

I've got the core player installed but it's not really any better then ol' Tcpmp performed.

If I need to convert video then what is the right setting? On the Apache I used to set it to QVGA (320/240) at between 24-15 FPS and that was about as good as video looked on the unit. What is the correct setting if I have to dust off the converter?

Ideally, I'd like to be able to take the files that are just on my computer and play them natively on the TP2. Is that possible? These are standard resolution xvid and divx files.

personally, i use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467112

It's a video converter. It's easy to use and made just for this purpose. The mp4 files play perfectly smooth using your album.

I'm trying this out. Will get back to you later.

Any ETA on hardware acceleration for other players besides WMP? Or possibility WMP supporting more formats?

Other players would have to be willing to pay qtv for the proper use of their acceleration support. It seems more likely that someone could get other formats to play on WMP or album, but I don't know why that's not happening.

Coreplayer is supposed to support QTV... anyway, that encoder bugged on me.

Can I get precises stats on what WMP accepts? Because my attempt to give it WMV files failed also. I made the file and it plays fine on my computer but windows media player just chews on it forever. I will of course play without a problem on core player or TCPMP minus the issue with the screen skipping every few seconds.

This is so annoying...

Re: Can someone sum up how to fix video playback on the Touch Pro2?

Ok, installed both of those and I don't know if it did anything. All that seems to have happened is that QTV doesn't work on Coreplayer anymore. I tried directdraw but it's still bad.

Ultimately, unless I did something wrong it seems like a step in the wrong direction.
