My Sprint TP2 runs slow. Help

I have the Sprint HTC TP2 and updated the OS with the factory OS after it came out. I haven't run any cooked ROMS since I need reliability since I use this for work as well as fun. When I go online to things like YouTube and such, the system seems to run slow. It takes along time to buffer and then rebuffers during playback. Also it seems to hang a bit when switching applications.

I've installed the HTCAddicts cleanRAM and use it pretty regularly. I've installed quite a few programs but most of them, I thought, were on the storage card. But, when I checked it there seems to only be 43mb of memory on the phone remaining. I can't seem to figure out how to look into the phone itself to see what's actually installed on the phone memory compared to the storage card. Would moving programs to the storage card and freeing up memory help with my problem or do I need to look elsewhere for the solution?

Thanks

You should always be installling programs on your storage card unless it is recommended that you install on your device. I would also insist on using a cooked rom... Its very easy to flash and it will be alot faster... I would recommend Mr.X sense 2.1 or 2.5 roms... They are great, fast, and very stable...

go to manage apps or remove apps... delete them and reinstall them... when asked to install on device or storage... be sure to install on storage... if you are not asked them you dont have a choice.

Re: My Sprint TP2 runs slow. Help

Don't install things to the card.

Sounds like there is confusion here between program memory and device storage. Your device will slow down if you have too many applications running at once (using up program memory), but that has nothing to do with where they are installed (device memory vs. storage card). Accessing the storage card, whether it is to retrieve emails stored on the card, or because you installed a program on the card, will be slower than using device memory to do the same thing.

If you want to speed things up, keep things off the card that you access frequently - particularly email, turn off Manila (huge memory hog), and use the task switcher frequently to close applications that you're not using.

Sorry Jonlee83, I just disagree...nothing personal.

Re: My Sprint TP2 runs slow. Help

I only have 37 MB free program memory. I closed everything in task manager already. Is this normal for a stock wm 6.5? What is Manila and how do I turn it off? And if I turn it off, what feature will I lose?

have you installed the no push internet cab? that helps free up precious memory as well.

Re: My Sprint TP2 runs slow. Help

OK, thanks I installed the program but can't find it on the phone anywhere. Does it automatically deactivate Push? ALso, I've never really setup anything that requires it so was it really an issue with my phone?
