Close Apps With 'X'

I apologize ahead of time if this is posted in the wrong section, I just got a new TP2 with WiMo 6.5 and I cannot find any setting that allows me to close apps by tapping the 'x' without them continuing to run in the background. I had an old HTC Touch 6900 that had this option and I can't understand why it would be excluded from WiMo 6.5 on the TP2. If this isn't an option, does anyone have a cab for it? Much abliged.

Re: Close Apps With 'X'

i think its in the settings folder, under phone options, im running 6.5.X at the moment so im not too sure, but u should be able to change from "holding and tapping x to close" to just "tap and close"

Start -> Settings -> All Settings -> Task Manager -> Button tab ->

Enable the check box 'Enable the "X" buuton to end running programs and select radio button "End programs by tapping and holding X".

However if you want to switch between running programs, you would need to install dutty's task manager or any other task manager as in 6.5 it was missing..

murtynvr - I don't see a 'button' tab when I go to the task manager under settings, I know what you're referring to because my old HTC Touch had this option but I don't see it on mine.

No problem, murtynvr. I installed this task bar and it works:

Thank you both for your help! How they forgot to put that one in is ridiculous.

no, that's not what he needs. they left out the task manager, not ameba. Besides, ameba is made for 6.5.x roms, not 6.5 roms.
