Re: E-Mail sync with Gmail
Why would you only want it deleted it from one spot though..?? I mean if it's an imperative message that you can't live without just go onto your computer, and save the message, than delete it... Otherwise messages just take up space...

Nope, i'm pretty sure that's the way Exchange works. your best bet is to archive it in gmail, and it will be removed from your inbox on next sync.

Re: E-Mail sync with Gmail
From your INBOX:
Select menu Select tools Select options Select the gmail account Select accout setup Tap next 5 times this should put you on the screen that has “Automatic send/recieve:" at the top Select “Advance settings” located at the bottom of the screen Drop down box under “when deleting messages:” Select one of the two options (Move them to trash or delete them off the server) Tap done and your all set Hope this helps. There is no option to keep the message in your in box on the server but at least its not totally deleted. Just remember to start from your inbox not on the sense tab or you will not get the same menu options |

Re: E-Mail sync with Gmail
That's weird that there is no option for that. I know when I had my HTC mogul there was an option so that when I deleted mail on my phone it didn't delete it from gmail.com.

Re: E-Mail sync with Gmail
I have gmail set up on my phone. When I delete emails on my phone they stay in my gmail account so that when I check my email on my computer, they show up again. I don't sync because I don't use Outlook.

Re: E-Mail sync with Gmail
That's exactly what I want, but no matter which way I set it up the messages always get deleted from my gmail.com when I delete them from my phone. I thought I figured it out by changing the incoming server settings from IMAP.gmail.com to POP.gmail.com, but that didn't work either.
How do you have it set up? Did you do anything special? |

Re: E-Mail sync with Gmail
I never saw the page that you have in your first post. Are you using some sort of gmail app? I just set mine up like any other email account. I have POP and IMAP enabled in my Gmail settings. There is also a drop down there that lets you tell gmail what to do when an email is accessed with POP. I set it to leave the email in the inbox. I have to log into gmail directly every once in a while to delete emails but they never download more than once to either the phone or my computer email program.
