Possible cause of the SOD

I have been experiencing the screen of death for quite a while now, but recently I'm starting to see the cause of the problem. I've read here about how people think the cause has to do with drivers, light sensors, etc...but I believe it's none of those.
I found out the cause seems to be related to any resource eating program.
For example, for people using Messenger, while messenger retrieves status update, try turning your screen off. Big chance you will get a SOD right there. Wait a while, 1 minute or so (or however long it normally takes for messenger to finish updating personal status), and try turning on the screen again. If I wait 1 minute or so, 100% of the time the screen turns on. I NEVER had to soft reset.
Another time I experience it is as soon as I boot up the cellphone. While windows is still loading (below the task manager arrow appears), try turning the screen off. Again, big chance you will experience SOD. Wait a lil and the screen will work again.

The system booting up part I can't be too sure, but for Windows Live Messenger, I am VERY sure that it's the cause. Any cooks out there with possible solutions?

I just did a flash dance, so I tried this on Mr. X's 2.5 rom, then Stock sprint WinMo 6.1, then on Mighty's War. I didn't experience it. *shrug*

Re: Possible cause of the SOD

It's a problem with the some of the newer SYS and has nothing to do with drivers or how many times you hard reset, flash shipped rom, etc. You can read about it in this thread, specifically this post. The solution is to use a different sys or extract the sys from the original leaked rom differently.

Re: Possible cause of the SOD

It's possible. I've noticed when I put the phone to sleep while the Youtube app is running, it has a hard time waking up. This is a major reason why i'm dumping the TP2.

Re: Possible cause of the SOD

I could believe this. Whenever I experience a SOD I plug in my phone to a computer or wall charger. This serves as an interrupt to whatever the phone is doing and then it wakes back up. I could attribute it to background processes (syncing email, AIM, twitter, etc)

I could believe the OP's claim as a cause.

I agree w/ Wesley. He was not trying to be mean, but there are tons of other SOD disscussions going on. It just makes it harder for those of us who do search for our answers to find when there are 10 diffrent threads all saying the same thing.

The OP i think was right, however the same conculsion that he came too has been talked about in at least 2-3 other threads specifically. So far there is nothing that can be done. Not trying to be rude either, just do a simple search and you can find other threads and can contribute to those.
