My Timezone keeps changing...

Ok, sorry if this has been discussed already but I havent been on here a lot recently so I may have missed it. My timezone should be Eastern but keeps changing to Central. Sometimes it wont change for a day, sometimes I set it back to Eastern and 5 minutes later it jumps back to Central while I am still in the same room and my phone is sitting untouched. It has already caused me to be late to work due to my alarm not going off on time, and G-Alarm is the only alarm clock that I use.
What would/could cause this? Quick GPS is up to date, I have already tried switching from Global to CDMA but still nothing.

I had this happen and I was late for work to, same thing. Instead of leaving the clock setting on "My Location" I added my city and selected that city and no more time switching. This started to happen after I ran verizons upgrade that came out.

4 questions:

  1. Do you live in a trailer?
  2. Is said trailer attached to a pickup truck?
  3. Is said pickup truck moving?
  4. Do you currently have a Budwieser in your hand?

Okay, all joking aside, I have no clue. This post is completely useless.

Edit: Just so people don't misunderstand my joke here. He stated that the phone sat untouched in the same room which got me thinking the only way to physically change time zones with this scenario is if you are in a trailer. Then the trailer park/ redneck jokes just started coming to me. In no way was this intended to be an insult. Sorry if my humor was misunderstood. Just wanted to clear it up before someone else PMs me angrily.

Lol, I have it backwards from you. I have my clock set to My Location, and when I travel, my time zone stays on Pacific time. I'll then manually change my time zone & location (2 different settings - 1 in clocks & alarms, other in Sense clock location), and my sms messages show Pacific time. Can't get it right.

No, I do not. But someone else mentioned the Verizon upgrade, I think that may be when mine started too.

Mine was doing this as well.. My conclusion was the GPS was showing me in "Frankfort" so I assumed the GPS thinks its the Frankfort on the East Coast and not the Frankfort thats the suburb of Chicago, which is where I really was. So I changed my location to Chicago and I havent had any problems since.

Re: My Timezone keeps changing...

I had this same problem. I thought at first it was a cell tower issue. I called US Cellular and asked. They said it was a known problem with this phone. They had me go into Settings-All Settings-Personal-Phone-CDMA services-Time Synchronization and click "get settings" Then uncheck the "Time Synchronize with mobile network automatically". Then I went and manually changed my time zone (on that same screen click "Clock&Alarm"). It stayed on that correct time zone.

BUT then I did some searching online and someone had said they manually updated "QuickGPS", then updated the weather tab and everything went back to normal. I noticed that I only had 4 hours left on QuickGPS. So I updated it and then updated my weather and everything went back to normal. I turned back on the network synchronization and everything still stayed in the correct time zone. So, maybe it's an issue with QuickGPS when it gets close to the end of it's time before it expires. Just a thought.

Re: My Timezone keeps changing...

I had an older version of igo8 that when ran, would update my time zone incorrectly. As long as I did not use that program, the time zone was fine.
