Yeah it lags so bad, why is this? Can it be fixed?

You can always turn it off....

I did that but it still lags horribly

Try turning off xt9...This should speed it up for ya.

Here is a .cab file to do it for you. Rename it to disable_xt9.cab and then run it on your device..

Why not just download Cody's SMS? (That's if you still want Threaded SMS with a better UI without the lag)

All I can say is to go to Task Manager and make sure you are truly closing programs that eat up your program memory. Also, in Internet Explorer go to Menu - Tools - Options - Memory - Delete Files to clear your cache and all that. When that builds up it really lags the whole phone baby girl.
