Can 6800s use Moto Power adaptors?

Title says it all. Both show 5V. I just upgraded to the Alltel 6800 from my Q and I still have the car charger and a spare moto power cord. Can I use the moto brand charger with my 6800?

Thanks!

All mini USB chargers conform to the same standard. They are all universal.

Re: Can 6800s use Moto Power adaptors?

As is with most non HTC mini usb chargers will work but not as fast as an OEM HTC charger is due to the fact that 99% of all 5V mini usb chargers conform to the usb specification of 5V @ 500mAh and Most OEM HTC Chargers ar 5V @ 1000mAh Some Motorolla ones are 5V @ 750mAh but are not all that common place.

As far as it working with your Titan. Yes it will work just fine it just won't put out as much amperage so it won't charge in the 2hour fashon of an OEM HTC will.

Re: Can 6800s use Moto Power adaptors?

i use a RAZR charger with my mogul, and if i'm doing something power-intensive on my phone in the car (like watching my slingbox) the moto charger won't be able to keep up. the orange "charging" led on the mogul will start to blink slowly instead of staying on. it's wierd.

When that orange light is blinking your battery is overheating and it has stopped charging in order to prevent damage to your phone.

I've even used the crappy charger that came with my bluetooth headphones in a pinch. Charged very slowly, but did the job.

Re: Can 6800s use Moto Power adaptors?

I've used motorola chargers on my mogul, and although it charges slower than the HTC one, it does work. The weird thing is that the mogul seems to be less picky about chargers than my friends motorola as I can charge on her charger, but her phone can't charge on my HTC charger. The moto gives an "incompatible charger" message.

HTC's chargers provide too much power for other phones. Moto's standard is 750ma or less. HTC stock chargers are 1000. You'll burn up the battery using an HTC charger on a Moto phone.

Thanks guys! I can save myself that thirty bucks. Man I wish this titan has a $ on one of the main keys. I have to goto the symbol library each time.
