Shell32

Well I got to wondering what process was the memory/processor hog so I payed attention to the processes and the only huge increase from startup was shell32, with about a 6x increase at 6.08MB and using 35%-50% of the processor.

So I was wondering WTF is the deal with that. It's a big increase.

Can a few people post their shell32.dll files so I can swap them out and see if they work better? (Ones that don't have this problem, especially if you're running no2chems latest build)

Re: Shell32

Sounds normal dude. Shell32 is essentially Windows Mobile itself.

Re: Shell32

But it increases in size 6 times. It would be good if I got 5 megs back and a chunk of processing power that's seemingly not being used for anything.
Really the only thing I'm doing mostly is texting but my phone still can lose 15MBs of RAM. Kinda annoying soft reseting it 3 times a day.

Re: Shell32

It doesn't sound right to me. I'm running 5060 on my Sprint Mogul and haven't rebooted for a couple days. My shell32.exe is sitting pretty steady at 1.85M.

See that's not fair.
>_>

Can you copy yours and send it to me? I wanna see if switching it will help.

EDIT: When I posted this it was just past 2MB, 10 minutes later it's now at almost 7MB.

How are you going to replace shell32 when it is in use by wm?

That's the part I'm trying to figure out. Someone at XDA did it though and it helped their RAM usage a lot, which is why I wanna try it.

Hell I might just reload the ROM and pay attention to what causes the increase after I install stuff. I'm thinking it's probably Spb Pocket Plus or Metrix.
