Email problem =(

I setup my Mogul to receive my work email (exchange) thru activesync.

Everything works perfect ,I can send and receive but when I delete I only want it to delete from my phone and not off the server. I still want to be able to view them on my PC at work.....( I save all emails)

Where is the setting to keep this from happening again??

Re: Email problem =(

Yes in your download settings you have to change the setting "when deleting files-dont delete from server." Phones not within reach so that might not be the exact verbage

Re: Email problem =(

As far as I know I don't believe you can do that at all. if you delete on your phone then it will delete on your computer. Although their is a slight modification you can do because as you know your emailsends and receives information that is pushed from your email on the web. So when you do something or have something received it is when you phone sync to the network. You probably remember the place where you set your email to sync via online like every 5,10,20,30 minutes or an hour or a day. Well if you changed those sync times to the longest possible which I think is a day you could delete the email off your phone and until it syncs to the internet 24 hours later you will still be able to see the email on the pc within those 24 hours because the phone has not synced yet and therefore has not yet updated the information on the pc web email. Hope this helps alittle.

Re: Email problem =(

These steps below are correct for a regular email account such as yahoo, gmail, aol, hotmail, etc. I already know that but it doesn't work for exchange emails because exchange emails don't give you that many windows to change stuff, once you get to the page where you select what you want to sync through your exchange server such as emails, contacts, etc., that will be the last page for the outlook emails which I am sure you have realized by now!

1. go to the outlook account then click menu-> tools -> options

2. choose the account you need to reset, in this case will be the outlook account, by clicking on it

3. keep clicking "next" about 5 times, till you reach the screen where you can set the "Automatic Send/Receive" settings, click on the link " Advanced setting" on the bottom left on the screen just above the Previous soft key, it will take you to sub screen, you will see an option "When deleting messages"

4. from the drop down menu choose "keep them on server"

Re: Email problem =(

Well I figured out what will work...incase anyone in interested.

basically what it's doing to my pc is exactly what I am doing on my handheld,at exactly the same time......so

If I delete on my handheld it deletes immediately from the server (Pc at work)..What I do is not delete from my handheld...wait till I get in the office, hit send receive and as they come in on my PC they immediately come off my handheld....and they stay there till I delete them.

Still wish I could save what I want on my handheld if need be.

I also got this info:

Assuming you have an Exchange 2003 server, your phone should behave the same way that Outlook RPC over HTTP behaves. It is a live connection to Exchange so all changes made in any Outlook program accessing Exchange, whether Outlook on your desktop or Outlook mobile, will be made on the Exchange server.

If it is deleted from the desktop, you should see it go away on the phone and vice versa.

Re: Email problem =(

well slvrap1, it looks like I was correct. The instructions you gave were good, but are simply meant for emails other than ones on outlook exchange servers through active sync.
