Is there a Reg tweek to shut off idle data connection?

Weather panel auto connects but doesn't shut off my data connection which really drains my battery fast if i don't catch it and disconnect it.

Is there a reg tweek to auto disconnect your idle data connection?

Add a 'Disconnect' button (and Timer) to the Connection List for GPRS
To add a Disconnect button:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone\Flags2 = 8 (DWORD decimal)
To add a Disconnect button and a timer display showing how long GRPS is in use for the session:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone\Flags2 = 16 (DWORD decimal)
To disable both the Disconnect button and the timer:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone\Flags2 = 0 (DWORD decimal)

Here is something over at XDA that I have been playing with for the last hour or so and it seems to work fairly well. No modifications to the instructions are needed. CacheTime= Idle time till disconnect.

and look for the other key name CacheTime (if not found add new one with type of Dword) then set it to the number of second before disconnect like this

CacheTime = 60

check for every thing right and then make a soft reset after if reboot go to turn on GPRS like check your mail and after the download mail complete and wait for 60 second it auto disconncet GPRS.

I wonder it work I notice I has been make this before but it doesn't work so I decide to rename the key SuspendResume and make a new one and now I very happy with this registry hack on my Treo750

k101d.
PS: finally
HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\SuspendResume=G PRS_bye_if_device_off
HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\CacheTime=60

Honestly... I had the same problems. It was annoying, so I just changed the settings of the weather on HTC home to check when I want it to. Not automatically.

Did the same for email.

The network is so fast where I live, that it's not a big deal to me just to click on update and wait a few seconds.

Doing this has given me double the battery life I had before. I haven't charged my phone in roughly 2 days or so, and I'm still at 30-40 percent left, which unless I use the internet later, will last me the rest of the day.

Worked like a charm! Thanks for posting this tip Darkness!

Had another request for you since you seem to know a lot about registry hacks. Anyway to reg edit so that if your streaming music from sirius or other like programs and you turn the button off it doesn't kill the data connection? I know they have programs to run inside, which I'm currently using. But would rather just hit the power button.
