I need tegaki input for Japanese and WM6 refuses to have anything to do with any sort of Japanese handwriting recognition even though i have regular text entry working fine. WM5 works no problem with it. Unless someone can get WM6 working with tegaki i need WM5 lol

Will a ROM for another carrier work fine without any customizations though? I don't know a whole lot about this stuff yet. I can follow instructions, but beyond that...

I'd really like to cook a WM5 ROM customized for VZW with a custom first boot splash that says NTT DoCoMo as per this image: http://www.ubergizmo.com/photos/2006...ocomo-logo.jpg and then maybe the GIF startup could animate that like it does on an docomo phone... lol I'm weird, I know.
If someone could point me to a guide or something I'd be willing to figure it out... |

a ROM from another carrier should work fine. I am with Telus and have the Sprint 2.17 ROM installed and working better than ever on here.

My device is flashing to Sampson's Clean WM5 at the moment... hopefully this works! I'd really like to figure out what's preventing WM6 from loading tegaki handwriting recognition...

Sprint 2.17 ROM onto a TELUS P4000?
Hey, first-time poster here.
I've seen that at least one person has been brave enough (well, braver than me, anyway) to install the Sprint ROM into their TELUS HTC P4000's. 1. Has anyone else? Could you provide some feedback about how it went? 2. If I do flash with the Sprint ROM and later want/need to revert back to the TELUS ROM, would I simply re-run the WM6 TELUS-specific flash and all will be OK? I just don't want to risk 'bricking' the P4000. The issue that I'm hoping to fix is that after I've used my Bluetooth headset on a call (and hangup), the P4000 will lock up as soon as I get the next incoming call. Hitting the 'Answer' softkey (or any of the hard keys) does nothing and the phone will keep ringing until it goes to VM. I then have to soft reset it. |
