What is a better phone HTC EVO or HTC THUNDERBOLT?

I am considering buying a new HTC phone to replace my HTC desire, and
I am interested in finding out which one is a better phone.

They are both great phones. Its about who's network you want to be on.

Thunderbolt get simultaneous voice and data on 3G and 4G. EVO only gets it on 4G. Definitely a big perk for the Thunderbolt

You can't really compare these phones. One is alot newer. Plus the thunderbolt is an upgrade by htc based on the same type of phone as the evo. If you want to compare the thunderbolt to another phone compare it to the evo 3d.

Re: What is a better phone HTC EVO or HTC THUNDERBOLT?

The Thunderbolt is obviously better.....

Advantages of Thunderbolt are:

Better CPU (2nd gen snapdragon)
Better GPU (2x better due to adreno 205)
256mb more ram

I am not sure how the LCD and Camera are in comparison...but regardless Thunderbolt is a decent upgrade over the Evo.

The Evo3D is not out yet so there is nothing to compare..and dont expect the Evo3D to have such a huge advantage until ice cream comes out..the difference between the Evo <->Thudnerbolt <-> Evo 3d is 6 month gaps around...so if its unfair to compare a thunderbolt to an Evo, then its unfair to compare an Evo 3D to a thunderbolt even more.

Re: What is a better phone HTC EVO or HTC THUNDERBOLT?

I have the EVO and have spend a lot of time with the thunderbolt also. As far as actual performance you will see no difference. I would base my decision on who has the better 4g coverage in your area and on price. The slightly upgraded processor etc is not enough to see an actual difference when opening apps, scrolling pages etc.

You will see the difference when you use hardware accelerated stuff...videos and games.

In terms of CPU even 600mhz-800mhz is enough to run most apps..if you look at your CPU usage..you will notice your phone rarely even hits 1ghz and runs at around 400-800mhz depending on which steps are programmed.
