Best Free GPS Navigation App??? Amaze and Waze are no go

I have been using Google Maps to search for addresses and I have been using Amaze and Waze to navigate to my destination. Recently, Amaze requires you to buy a yearly subscription to navigate. Waze no longer works for me because it won't let me log in and the "forgot password" process doesn't work.

Does anyone know of FREE gps navigation software?

Update!
I was forced to use Google Maps during a trip today and realized something incredible!!!! Google Maps sucks at being a navigation app if you only allow it to use the "my location" to find out where you are, but if you open Google Maps and then click on the menu in the bottom right corner and then scroll down and click on "Use GPS" it becomes AWESOME!!!!! I was so pleasantly surprised today when I found this out. I now know that many of you probably already knew this, but for the few that didn't, this will definitely help them out. I am now able to use Google Maps as my navigation app with pin point accuracy!

Why not use Google Maps to navigate too?

I definitely will now. I had no idea that I could get Google Maps to use my built in GPS until today. Now that I know this I uninstalled all of those other gps apps! Now I need to know how to get it to give voice turn by turn directions. I know that it will on the Android OS, but I wonder if it can on WinMo. If it can't, no big deal. It still works great without it, you just have to look at your screen.

Try bing too.
I like the older WM6 version. It will track you utilizing your internal gps also and you can search for locations by speaking the name of your destination.
It has audible notifications to remind you to turn. The WinMo version of GoogleMaps doesn't support spoken directions. I kinda like bing a little better because it at least has the alert tones.

How fast is Bing? I just did a search on it to find out where to download the app and saw some discouraging reviews. People were saying that it is way too slow compared to the first version and that they stopped using it. What is your experience with it? I know that Google Maps is really quick at generating the route and navigating you there. It sounds and looks like Bing offers many more features than Google Maps, and I would love to try it. However, I don't want to bother with it if it is intolerably slow.

I don't think Bing is THAT slow. It's free so why not give it a shot.

Re: Best Free GPS Navigation App??? Amaze and Waze are no go

I just wish Google Maps or Bing would display my Lat/Long, MPH, Altitude, Etc...

Take a look at Noni GPSPlot. This isn't really suited for car navigation, but looks great for hiking.

The search field says "Speak or Type Business" but you can enter a residential address in there. You can also use any address in your contacts as a location.

Doesn't the Imagio come pre-installed with Bing?

I think it works pretty well and I like the Gas Price and Movie functions. The only thing that doesn't work that I had with my Tilt on AT&T is the quick "Locate Me" function which was usually adequate for searching for the closest Target, Starbucks, etc. That uses location services which are not available on a CDMA network but the GPS on my Imagio is so much faster than the one on my old Tilt that it almost doesn't matter.

There is a free app called "next2me" that works with google maps, use it for movies, gas stations, bars basically everything. Once you have google maps running you open the program and using your location shows you everything around you or you could pick and choose from a menu.
