I'll wait for HTC to release it. I don't like the techs at the Sprint Corp store in Atlanta. Some of them are real jerks.

Re: leaked Froyo update fix.

@ a 3rd party store now, they have to "roll back" my phone and then do the OTA update

using their display laptop to kill time, while they "roll back" and get me the .6 update

Let me know if they are able to successfully "roll back" your phone. If this works find out what information you can from them. It would be beneficial for us to actually roll back, root then apply the official update. as there is no root solution for 2.2 yet..

It's NOT an OTA update. It's an OTW update. They have to download the file and then use HTCSync and a computer. They are not ROLLING back people.

Edit: BTW... it requires a HARD RESET!! Wipes all your data...

Anyone who has root and wants to keep it...should not do this. I did not have root so it did not matter to me.

They installed a FULL version of Android....very large file. Much larger than the update...it was also encrypted..so I could not get a copy.
So does this full install wipe out any other your phone info like contacts and apps etc?

Re: leaked Froyo update fix.

ok, so maybe b/c it was a 3rd party store not a corporate store. They were not able to "roll back" and do the .6 OTA update. They received an e-mail saying that b/c there was no significant difference between .3 and .6 that HTC was going to be coming out w/ an OTA in the next week or 2 "update" those of us that jumped the gun and got .3

They showed me the e-mail they got, and also told me that unless I bricked my phone, that since I had no problems than to just wait for the update from HTC

oh well...no biggie

Re: leaked Froyo update fix.

which is what we should all do, instead of hoping that a tech at a sprint store, who knows less about these phones than WE do, can make it happen
