Camera lens cover soluations?

Has anyone come up with a better solution to the camera lens cover than just removing the back when you want to take a picture? Has anyone tried removing the black shroud from the back of the camera so that there's just a hole left or tried drilling through the black shroud? If so, did it work, or did you destroy the back cover? I like having a protective cover on my phone, so to take a picture I have to remove the cover, then remove the back, before I can take a picture. Would it really hurt to just have a hole in the back of the case? I've looked at some other phones and the Blackberry Curve just has a hole through the cover with no lens cover.

Re: Camera lens cover soluations?

lmao. I was wondering the same thing. Its like clear plexiglass. the camera lense can see through it. If you are talking about something to protect the thing that protects the camera (the plexiglass/plastic whatever material it is thats on the back of the phone) I would recommend bestskinsever.

Re: Camera lens cover soluations?

Pics through the plexiglass are lousy compared to the same pic without it. Haven't you guys noticed that? It's not a matter of scratching it up. It's a matter of taking pics through non-optical plastic. I know a number of folks just take the back off to get a good pic, but I'm tired of it. No one has come up with a real solution?

thats makes a LOT more sense than the first post.

Edit: Just tested this theory. The ONLY notable difference is that whites are slightly--slightly--less crisp. I looked on my phone zooming in and also on a computer . Not seeing a reason to drill into the battery door for this.

Re: Camera lens cover soluations?

Wipe the fingerprints off the acrylic on the back and you will see no difference with and without.
