Problem with Programming

I apologize if this has been posted somewhere before, I did a search and came up empty.

About a week ago I called *2 to pay my bill, a second after connecting the computer voice said that there was a free update that needed to be applied and it would take about a minute, after the update the phone may shut off. A few seconds later it said that the update was still in progress and after about a minute it said the update was complete and it ported me over to the regular Sprint customer service line. I asked the lady that helped me make the payment what the update was for but she said she didn't know and to call back if it did it again. After I hung up with her I noticed that on the phone application it said in yellow lettering "Programming in progress..." but I had already hung up and it beeped (loudly) 3 times and said "Programming unsuccessful." Over the past week I've tried calling *2 again and it says the same thing about needing an update but I noticed that before the "Programming in progress..." note came up it says "SPL Unlocked" and then the minute update comes and it says it's complete however no matter how long I leave the call open as soon as I hang up it says the programming failed. Tech support didn't know what was going on, anyone here have any insight? I tried the update profile and update prl in settings but they both say no update is needed. Much appreciated.

Re: Problem with Programming

what you just witnessed was a OTA PRL (Over The Air Preffered Roaming List) update, now for some reason it always errors people out when its done this way, the update goes through but it always errors out in the end, there is an alternate way of doing this, and thats by going start>settings>system tab>update PRL and that'll do it too, this is assuming your using the stock sprint ROM of course, hope that helps!

Thanks for the quick reply, I tried the PRL update and it says "No PRL update available." I tried calling *2 again and it still does the failed programming. I've tried rebooting several times but still nada. Thanks.
